INTRODUCTION
Academic and research skills can be described as to those specific abilities which are
necessary for an individual to conduct a research in effective as well as efficient manner. It
includes to several capabilities of writing, particularly in appropriate way properly. This
assignment will explain about strengths and weakness of my own and set target to improve skills.
It involves to determine threats and then make an accurate plan to overcome with the same
(Birley and Morel, 2014). I will discuss about specific target of self development and sources to
complete the same in particular period of time. It also includes a research plan and draft of my
search work along with suitable resources.
TASK 1
Personal development is very important task which is necessary to be completed by an
individual. This can be done through setting targets and then focus on that to put required efforts
in correct direction to overcome with threats of my skills. It is necessary for me to first determine
strengths and weaknesses so that I can take an appropriate step towards them. This will facilitate
to utilise strong points and reduce negative impacts of issues in abilities as well. There are
several kinds of skills such as personal, academic and language which are mandatory for me to
learn these factors properly so that research can be carried out in appropriate way to generate
desired outcomes properly. I have certain strengths and weaknesses which should be identified
properly and put an accurate actions towards them.

My strengths
 I have that ability to manage different circumstances properly to attain desired outcomes
and able to reduce risk factor through an appropriate policy. Management of different
activities in sequence are necessary to achieve desired target properly.
 I have a strong self confidence which is helpful for me to carrying out several tasks of
research process in appropriate manner to gain better results. This factor is necessary to
conduct each and every procedure to attain better outcomes. Self confidence can build
wrong thing into the correct one.
 I am a careful listener and kept each required factor, due to this everything is conducted
in correct direction properly. Effective listening render support to gain required
knowledge properly.
 I have my own goals which facilitate to put efforts in correct direction to achieve them
in desired manner with better outputs.
My weaknesses
 My primary weakness is that, various kinds of tasks are taken by me in very easy which
impacts sometimes in negative way and reduce outcomes. Critical processes are
mandatory to be taken seriously and conduct them in appropriate manner to gain better
outcomes.
 Many times, my point of view of completing any type of procedure in different
circumstance will be done properly results into pressure on me which impacts on my
performance. It is necessary to first observe and analyse value of specific task and then
make mind set to fulfil the desires.
 Generally, I avoid problems to be analysed every time which results into arising a huge
issue in my working and outcomes will be decreased.
 My writing skills are not good due to lack of proper knowledge about grammar which
reflect as so many grammatical errors in my research draft. Writing correct information
with an appropriate language so that reader cab easily understand it.

SMART Goals
 To learn about management of resources in appropriate manner and reduce problems in
organisation which takes around 3 months.
 I want to learn about chemical combinations of several compounds so that experiments
can be conducted properly that takes around 6 months.
 To learn about grammatical measures to avoid mistakes of grammar while writing
content which takes around 5 months.
TASK 2
The note taking habit is an important ability which make sure about collection of an
appropriate record of information that can be used effectively as well as efficiently. There are
several key points which are essential to be noted down and look at them and they will inspire
you to put sufficient efforts to fulfil desired targets properly (O'Sullivan and et. al., 2016). It
includes several source of knowledge that provides required data and using strategies to carrying
out research properly. It is necessary for a person to listen carefully to other person who is
rendering an appropriate knowledge about actual and correct facts. There are various types of
strategies which provide support to overcome with threats of skills and gain required
information.
There are various kinds of sources through which people can gain essential knowledge by
listening from various individuals such as experienced ones, tutors and others. Active listening
skills are important for a person because it is necessary to listen to others properly and gain
desired information to reduce problem of abilities and conduct research program in proper way
to generate required results (Thiry, Laursen and Hunter, 2011). Listening skills is very significant
as it renders many of desired knowledge without putting strong efforts towards anything.
Learning about any fact or field become very easy for me through listening carefully and recall it
in accurate manner.
The term strategies or policies are mandatory are necessary to be implemented for
conducting any event more effectively as well as efficiently to create desired outcomes. Reading
strategies. It is necessary for me to determine an appropriate strategy or technique to attain
targets of self development properly (Bhatia, 2014). It is required to be focussed on my
weaknesses and then put efforts in correct direction to overcome with several problems or issues
due to which is not able to conduct proper research with desired outcomes. An individual should

concentrate on their own threats and sort out them through identify an appropriate solution or
activity in correct way to generate better outputs.
Now, it is required to summarized the whole information in order to mention specific
problems and their solving techniques along with particular period of time for the same (Flynn
and et. al., 2012). The several weaknesses should be noted down which are more important to be
avoided along with desired methods to solve them. There are different tactics that are helpful to
sort out threats of skills but it is necessary for me to observe, analyse and evaluate their
efficiencies and select one to get required results.
TASK 3
Research refers to an important process having several activities which are conducted to
know about practical scope of any aspect through generating desired outcomes in appropriate
manner. It is necessary to observe, analyse and evaluate certain factors which impacts on my
search project. I had carried out an effective as well as efficient research on promotional
activities through social media. By this procedure, it is observed and analyse that activities on
social media are more beneficial for a particular product in terms of boosting up productivity as
well as profitability of the company.
Primary sources of information such as previous records, legal documents, eyewitnesses,
results of experiments, statistical data and many more. These provide support to gain required
information about promotional activities in order to know about their benefits as compared to
other methods of marketing events. Secondary sources refers to certain elements like
newspapers, books, articles and magazines to get desired knowledge. Both of these resources of
information are used by me to observe, analyse and evaluate effectiveness of promotion on social
media as compared to other activities in order to achieve better profits.
Research plan can be described as an appropriate design of carrying out an accurate
research properly to get desired outcomes. It is necessary to make an appropriate plan of action
for conducting an effective research activity so that possible scope for concept can be
determined. I had made a proper research plan along with several essential factors and
implement the same in more efficient way to attain required results. A research plan which is
followed by me is given below.

RESEARCH PLAN Topic of research: - Promotion through social media. Aims and targets of research: - To find that promotional activities should be conducted
on social are more beneficial than other events. Methodology of research: - I had used an effective methodology and carried out an
efficient survey of market to know about scope of promotion through social media as
well. Strategy for research: - An appropriate strategy of allocating and utilising available
resource in correct manner for carried out research properly. Budget required: - I had made an approximation budget for conducting this research and
spend funds within limitations. Concept of innovative approach: - My topic is an innovative approach in field of
marketing which can be considered as beneficial for company and it is obse4rved that it
is more easy and profitable. Data analysis: - I had conducted an effective as well as efficient analysis of information
which is collected by me through primary and secondary sources. Interpretation: - It is interpreted that promotional activities are more beneficial than other
ones in order to determine that people get more attracted by social media than others. Findings: - It is find out by me that in current scenario of digitalisation, people are fond
of using internet and mostly active on social media then it is more suitable to influence
people for a particular product.
 Recommendations: - it is recommended by me that promotional activities should be
carrying out on social media through creative innovations so that more people get
attracted towards the company. This will facilitate to improve number of customers and
sales which result into boosting productivity as well as profitability.
TASK 4
Personal development is described as to those activities or events which are beneficial to
improve abilities or skills of an individual. It is all about to increase quality of life and contribute
to realisation of dreams and aspirants. I required to determine several capabilities that are
necessary be gained by putting desired actions to achieve better skills to improve performance in
research. I am able enough to conduct an accurate research but writing skills are not well due to

threats in writing skills. This will includes various kinds of factors such as awareness,
knowledge, self- esteem, potential, career, health, lifestyle and so on. Now, it is necessary to
make personal development plan in appropriate way. It refers to an effective as well as efficient
plan of cation which is considered as design of development and followed properly to attain
desired growth. I had prepared an accurate design for my own improvement to get better results.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
My personal development targets  My target to learn about grammars and gain
knowledge about chemicals combinations of
compounds.
Short or long term target  My short term goal is to improve my problem
solving skills and long term is to prepare an
appropriate decision making.
Strategies to attain objectives  I had conducted a situation analysis through
collecting required knowledge to select innovative
technique to achieve desired goals.

grammatical mistakes and if my efforts will
continued then I can overcome with this problem
very soon.

boosting up my skills and abilities of language
