1. Introduction
Academic skills and personal development plan both are very crucial aspect for an
individual person in terms of achieving long term sustainability that considered high level of
attentiveness. In this it is very significant that ability and attentiveness within working get
processes on continuous basis that is collectively summarized and increased with the help of
attaining academic learning and knowledge (Tongchai, Wichaidit and Koocharoenpisal, 2019).
Personal development plan is always needed for advance learning and solving probability and
issues through high improvements that are done on regular basis. Both this concept i.e. academic
skills and personal development reflects sustainable direction for a person due to which they
enjoyed long term growth in its life and attained the height of attentiveness within their career.
This project report is based on personal and professional development along with the elaboration
of values of short term, medium term and long term goals with their suitable examples. Further
this report also elucidates the knowledge about value of personal development plan with
probability to gain high competitive advantages in market that also maximize sustainability in
business world.
2. Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
Personal and professional development support an individual person in their regular learning
process and also assist them in attaining aims and objectives. Personal development highly
focused on developing social and behavioral abilities that also help in grow professional career
(Sampaio, Bastos and Marinho, 2021). To improve career in professional field an individual
person focus on setting aims and objectives these mainly includes aims of attaining a degree,
run individual business whereas in this the objective of achieving this aim is to pass all the
indulge assignments, by properly attending the class lessons and taking tips of run a business. It
is very essential to keep update in getting knowledge and skills within personal and professional
development so that positive opportunities are capture in hand within limited time period.
To attain the knowledge and skills it is very crucial to maintain continuity among working
by taking the full support of legal, safety and ethical code of conducts. Personal and
professional development often understands by continues development in job learning,

computer based learning, courses and workshops. In terms of persona development individual
emphasis on comprising emotional well-being and psychology that indirectly improves the
professional development. In this a person directly focused on generating thoughts in qualitative
manner, actions and behavior that integrated helps in attaining goals in appropriate and
systematic manner (Verhoeven, Heerwegh and De Wit, 2020). Development in skills and
knowledge helps in presenting high level of understanding that assist in interacting with large
number of people on regular basis as it is highly implemented with the provision of two skills
that considered hard and soft skills. As it is highly prominent to focus on several aspects that are
energy, time, belief, efforts which are needed to induce professional development in effective
and efficient manner.
In terms of professional development the attentiveness and focus is to be accomplished
by improvising knowledge and skills so that personal maintenance at working is to be maximized
on regular time period. Personal and professional development of skills represents the efficient
involvement of values, skills, experience and attributers through which particular person roles
and responsibilities are attained in an integrated manner. In personal and professional
development learning play an effective role because it helps in clear the concepts due to this an
individual person gained continuous improvements in a specified period of time. In terms of
developing both the field it is very essential to be managed and controlled schedule so that high
possible positive outcomes are present in career path. Therefore the growth of individual person
is basically reflects the attainment of skills and knowledge that involves with an academic
learning so that particular role is played in efficient manner. To reach the goal of developing
personal and professional growth at working place there are several requirements are reflected
that are mainly active listener, authentic team activities, flexibility, passionate towards attaining
targets, having a good understanding regarding ethics and codes of conducts all these are very
useful. To effectively attain the objectives of attaining skills and personal and professional
development several factors are to be needed that are mainly presented below:
Set clear goals- It is very prominent and simplest aspects through which a person
enjoyed the benefits for which they are setting goals. It provide authentic path that helps
in measuring the growth in terms of professional manner so that personal development is

aspects impact positively on daily routine work that are based on career related goals,
employability and enhancement of strength and talent etc. so that better version of a person is
reflected in front of society due to which they get more opportunity that strengthen
professional growth of individual in business industry. Due to career focused several factors
are to be seen that effective communication, leadership, problem solving, self-confidence,
work ethics, innovative thinking etc. This will developed a strong network in personal and
professional field so that an individual will get more and more opportunity that is beneficial
for their regular growth and development.

Making short term goals is reflecting like outlining a direction. Therefore, the value of
short term goals is highly used to eliminating the delays that considered the positive impact on an
individual person behavior and skills due to which they respond positively on the environment.
This also helps in maintaining regularity within present working activities. To reached the long
term goals it is very essential to reach the short terms goals because it provides direction to attain

significant role. This helps in improvising reading skills by attending all class and passes all
assignments. Due to this an individual overall productivity and efficiency will maximized that
support in attaining long term goals (Owen, 2020). These goals are fulfilled in a 12 month period
that helps in maintaining clear path so that clear direction is seen that helps in making positive
changes. There are short term goals that are presented below:
Improving reading skill- It is an essential skill that helps in attaining employability.
Therefore, it is to be considered that having an effective reading skill presents a positive
impact on an individual person personality. Due to improvising reading skill clarity is to
be developed in mind that impact in verbal communication effectively so that a person
interact positively with another person.
Attend and passing all assignments- This helps in enhancing overall management skills
that also provide frequent results that helps in attaining positive results. In this an
individual receive a list of instruction that support individual in meet cognitive
assignments and also develops control that is used on solving complex problems.
Initial critical thinking skill- This skill is developed when a person trying to solve
complex situation with their positive presence of mind and creative ideas in terms of
solutions. This skill is developed by properly attend the class and take proper guidance

Learn business foundation- It is very essential to examine the short term goals and
attaining the medium term goals by learning effective business foundation course. It will

Focus on managerial skills- It’s is medium term goal that is needed to fulfill the long
term goals on specified period of time (Yah, Lubis and Mohamad, 2019). Managerial
skill is highly beneficial for getting favorable results in adequate manner. It develops the
precise experience and practice related to gain long term goal through which
development and growth is attained in some specific direction.

The Long term goal focuses on specified goal that an individual is selected as per their own
desire. It offers proper directing and living to individual that helps in reaching targets to deliver

accurate manner. This goal is attaining in around a period of 5 years where they need to focus on
developing strategies so that productive results are attained.
Getting a degree- It is very essential to get a business foundation degree because it helps
an individual person in starting their own business. It helps in developing proficient
results in certain field so that specific goal is reached so that possible range of results is
attained in successful manner.
Starting a business- It is a main long term goal that needed lot of efforts and time to
complete. To perceive career in starting own business is done with getting proper training
and development, courses and attending regular class in business foundation degree. This
helps in getting suitable results. It impacts positively on working so that competency
would be maintained.
