Introduction
Academic skills play an important role in order to attain the career objective in everyone's
life. The Institutions and other universities are working so that they can develop the skills and
knowledge of their students with the help of proper training programs and other academic classes
(Manning and et. al., 2006). Personal professional development is also used by the students to
manage their own learning and its growth. The report is also discussed about the concept of
personal and professional development with respect to the short term, medium term and long
term goals and personal development plan.
Task one
Concept of personal and professional development
Personal development plan refers to development of skills which can be used by the
individual in order to attain their set targets and with respect to their roles in life (Steineck and et.
al., 2021). On the other hand professional development helps in developing such skills so that the
individual can understand their role with context to their job about what they have to do and the
manner in which they can improve it.
Short terms goals and their values
Short term goals refer to such targets which can be achieved in a shorter period of time.
the set target which helps in filling the gap between the individual standing at present or where
he wants to stand in future. These kinds of goals play an important role in innovating different
effective strategies and also helpful the individual in order to take the first step with respect to
personal goals. For example: improving communication skills, academic learning skills and
many others.
Medium term goals and their values
Medium term goals are a kind of a second step which is used in order to attain the
ultimate goals. These are helpful in order to determine the strategy and examine them whether
they are helpful in attaining the long term goals or not (Laufenberg, Kunz, and Nystroem, 2003).
For example: boosting confidence level, getting a part time job.
