INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are the talents that allow people to become skilled learners. These skills
assist an individual in gaining the confidence they require to engage into competitive
environment without any hesitation. Achievements lead to gain intellectual ability which help
them to readily go beyond their comfort zones. The report aims to acknowledge the role of
personal development and professional development in an individual life to achieve success.
Furthermore, highlights the Personal Development Plan along with relevant eight sources.
TASK 1
(1) Concept of Personal & Professional Developments
Personal Development helps an individual to enhance the skills, abilities and knowledge in
order to attain higher quality of life. It aids in attaining desired goals and even career
progression which includes education, employment opportunity and other aspects. Thus,
improves the ability to live happy and well satisfied life.
Whereas, Professional Development helps to improve the necessary skills and knowledge
in order to be capable at workplace. Furthermore, it focuses on the required improvement to
achieve desired goals. As a result these advancements led to success and growth for long term.
(2) Meaning of Short Term Goals Along With Examples
Setting objectives is an important step in accomplishing them. These are known as short-term
goals since their duration is usually limited to a year or less. These goals promote morale as well
as competitive spirit and further, increases the likelihood of achieving long-term goals. Some of
the short terms goals are discussed below.
 Attaining the interpersonal skills
 Proficient in time managing skills
 Controlling stress as well as work pressure
(3) Meaning of Medium Term Goals Along With Examples
Medium-term objectives are those which are required to be met within 18 months to three
years. To maintain their high quality, these goals must be continuously checked; else, they would
lead to discontent and failure of desired goals in life. Some of the medium- term goals are
discussed below.
