INTRODUCTION
Brexit is exit of United Kingdom from European Union which took place om 1st February
2020. Due to this, tourism around the world will get impacted and leave negative impacts upon
United Kingdom as it will increase restrictions for tourists to travel within the country and visit
the places that they want to visit (Burnett and Johnston, 2020). Present report is based upon
analysis of different articles that are related to assessment of implications of Brexit on tourism.
This report will be focusing upon various elements and impacts of it on travel and tourism within
and outside of UK.
MAIN BODY
Analysis of the way in which tourism will change after Brexit
United Kingdom exited European Union on 31st of January 2020 and it will leave impact
upon tourism around the world because it will affect the economic, social and political aspects.
Apart from this, in post transition period which will be ending on 31st December 2020 tourism
may get highly impacted. From the report of Deloitte, it has been determined that there are travel
and tourism flows between European Union and United Kingdom. EU is one of the main
destinations for all the tourists who are willing to visit UK and the main source of income comes
from UK and if it will be separated from EU then the income will huge challenge for EU. Apart
from this, the movement of tourists will also affect movement of tourists from EU to UK because
they have to follow instructions of government that are implied after Brexit. Because of it the
value of sterling will also get impacted and spending of tourists will be increased and due to this
the number of tourists in European Union will be increased (Lim, 2018).
Apart from all the negative implications there are several positive impacts of Brexit on
the nations. One of them is that it will increase the employment opportunities in travel and
tourism sector of UK. During the year 2014 it contributed almost 4.23 million jobs in UK which
is very high. On the other hand, more than 1.89 million individuals got direct employment within
the industry. Because of the pandemic situation most of the people are not able to bear their daily
expense but with the help of Brexit they will be able to get proper job which will make them
strong economically. Travel and tourism industry rely upon a significant number of migrants for
the purpose of employment. Due to shortage of employment and skills all around the world most
of the countries are dealing with weak economic position and because of Brexit some of them
