INTRODUCTION
Academic skills refers to the strategies, abilities and habits which can help the learners in
succeeding into the academic setting. Academic skills are important because it help in terms of
increasing the confidence level, self esteem and competence as well. When there is effective
academic skills, then the individual may be able to cut down on the number of hours spend on
studying and leaving time for other things in the life(Alharahsheh and Pius., 2021). The present
report will cover discussion about the reason of higher education academic skills are crucial for
success and also about the variety of academic skills. In addition to this, the report will cover
analysis about how the application of academic skills can lead towards the success in academic
writing. The report basically consist of the academic skills which contribute in the success of
Business and Tourism Management degree.

For achieving success in Business and Tourism management degree, it is important that
to have proper academic skills. Academic skills are important because it support into context of
increasing confidence, self esteem and competence as well. These skills help in terms of
reducing the anxiety level about deadlines and tests. When there is effective academic skills then
it is easier to reduce the number of hours spend on studying and also have more time for other
things in life. As there are different number of skills which are very important from the academic
point of view. Without developing proper skill, it is very challenging to create a proper base for
the degree and without skills it is impossible to grow into right direction within shorter period of
time. The main important academic skills basically include Research skills, Referencing skills,
structure and academic tone and time management as well(Bhagra and Sharma., 2018).
(Damaskou., 2021). As these skills have their own significance on their own place so its very
important to understand these skills into deeper terms. Research skill is helpful for students
because it can help students in terms of gathering and analysing information as well. It also
contribute for building knowledge, think critically and exercise the mind as well. Research skill
is that skill which help a student beyond their academic life and also enables to understand
students regarding the world around them into better terms.

Another skill which is referencing skill which help in terms of avoiding plagiarism
through making it clear which ideas are their own and which are someone else. It also shows the
understanding about the topic and also gives supporting evidence for the arguments, opinions. It
also help in terms of allowing others to identify the sources which have been used. Referencing
skill help in terms of making the matter more relevant, to the point and evident as well due to
which it is easier to make the matter more practical in terms of nature (Hardy and et.al., 2020).
Structure and academic tone skill also help the student in terms of giving the written work a
polished feeling and structure gives the matter an appropriate format for delivering the content.
The structure of the content makes the matter more organised, arranged and easy to adapt as well
due to which it is comfortable for the reader to read the matter into more accurate terms. So
structure is very important within the academic writing.
An academic tone help in better relating the audience needs, emotions, wants and
interests as well. When the better can relate then stronger will be the engagement with the
content will be. Another skill which is time management skill is very important from the student
point of view because this skill help the student in terms of managing every aspect of their life
into positive terms. Management of time basically enables the student in terms of becoming
more confident, organised and learn into more efficient terms as well. Effective time
management is necessary for high school students because they have to deal with more tests,
subjects, extracurricular activities and assignments as well. So these are the four important
academic skill which are very necessary for achieving success in Business and Tourism
Management Degree.
These four skills are very important in terms of achieving success in academic writing
into effective terms. Within the academic writing, it is very important that whatever the matter
has been written it should be very specific, to the point and evidence based as well so that it can
be positively considers under the parameter of research skill(Rose and et.al., 2020). When the
student have proper academic tone then it is easier to deliver the matter into appropriate terms.
Within the academic writing, structure plays a very significant role because without structure it
becomes impossible to deliver the content into appropriate form.

For the effective academic writing, it is important to have time management so that focus
can be given into equal terms to every aspect of academic writing. Without these skills, it is
impossible to deliver the qualitative content at the university level and for achieving success
within the degree it is important to have these skills so that proper development can be done into
result oriented terms(Saeger and et.al., 2019). When the application of skills has been applied
into the academic writing then it is easier to achieve success at the academic level into result
oriented terms. So its very important that to understand the significance of these important skills.
When the skills have been used into right terms then it is easier to do the work and also
completes the work into shorter period of time. These four skills are very important in order to
achieve success in academic writing and their application also is very significant at the academic
level. Within the degree of Business and Tourism management degree, it is very important to
have proper skills and these skills act as support system in order to achieve the goal.
Research skill help the student in finding out the right content for the specific topic.
When proper structure has been followed while writing the matter then it becomes easier to make
a proper report of it(Wang and et.al., 2020).The academic tone of the content makes the matter
more professional and practical as well due to which it enhances the level of academic writing
into positive terms. When the right tone has been followed within the content then it is easier to
provide a good level of confidence to the reader. When references has been used into
appropriate terms then it makes the matter more relevant, evident, to the point ad practical as
well.
When student properly manage the time then it is very convenient to write the matter
within shorter period of time according to the requirement of academic level. Without proper
time management it becomes very challenging to deliver matter into proper manner because
without time management there are higher chances of doing the mistakes on a larger scale. So in
the overall manner, it has been observed that the application of these skills helps the student to
achieve success in academic writing while studying for the degree of Business and Tourism
Management. So these skills are very important for further development and growth of a student
into positive terms.

CONCLUSION
The above stated report concludes that academic skills are very important for business
and management. It has been concluded that for achieving success in business and management
it is very important to have certain kind of skills. When the application of these skills have been
implied into positive terms then it is easier to achieve success in academic writing. It has been
observed that without academic skills it is not possible to achieve the things within shorter period
of time. So in the overall manner, there are certain skills such as research skill, structure and
academic tone, time management and referencing skill also act as support system for further
development and growth of an individual. Within the academic setting it is important to have
proper knowledge, experience and skills so that outer world accept the individual into result
oriented manner. So in the overall manner, academic skills are very important not only from the
point of view of academic level but from the point of view of professional level as well.
