INTRODUCTION
Academic skills refers to talent and habits that highly beneficial for academic
pursuits like research, report writing, learning and presentation. It mainly involves
planning, studying, technical skills etc. as these are core of academic skills.
Therefore academic skills are useful for improvement of a person (Lejeune, Beausaert
and Raemdonck, 2021). This report involves concept of personal and professional
development, short-term, medium-term and long term goals with examples. Further it
discus the value of personal development plan using goals and at last it reflects
reliability, relevance, purpose, author that represent the affect of using different
source.

Personal and professional development
Personal development defines as an accumulation of activities that helps in
developing potential and capability of employees which is useful to generate human
capital. It creates an opportunity and improve quality of individual person to attain life
of aspirations and dreams. Professional development involves mentoring that
develops employees at workplace by training sessions. This development is based
on academics because it helps in sustaining professional terms to develops skills
and knowledge. Reflection is more essential for personal and professional
development where an individual give attention to meaningful subjects where
individual needs improvements. It is effective for a person because it build long
lasting habit to learn and acquire knowledge and skills.
