INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are generally the skills and abilities acquired by the learners in their
schools, colleges or university campus. It includes some major skills like getting comprehensive
knowledge about the projects, academic writing skills, making effective notes, planning and
organising, critical thinking, reflecting on practices, times management and so many others
abilities. All these abilities together are very crucial for any students who aspire about getting
dream jobs or even to wants to lead a successful life (Alqurashi, 2019) . The students can make
this possible by getting exposed to options available for careers and choosing a particular field
and after this these skills comes handy for them. The report will be a brief research about the
chosen topic i.e., adaptation of digital learning due to Covid-19 by universities(Al Mahadin and
Hallak, 2021). This report will also include an essay on challenges faced, lesson learned,
knowledge acquired, and the skills that are to be overseen need to improve in order to enhance
future research and learning.
TASK 1
Online learning is a source of education that takes over the internet. It is also known as e-
learning. Online learning is a platform for distance learning that takes place across from
everywhere and not in the form of physical classes. Online learning is a most popular approach
in today's era. Today an entire education system is based on virtual classes. During Covid-19,
online learning plays an very crucial role in education system. The pandemic has created that
situation in front of all of us that there was no other option left for the entire world to take use of
virtual learning(Ashby-King, 2021) . Online education has previously been viewed as an
alternative way. Since the coronavirus outbreak, virtual learning have become the precious stone
of modern higher education.
Online learning has been a fantastic shift for many people in several ways(Wei and Chou,
2020) . This is the biggest advantage of online learning that the students like me need not to go
anywhere and they can take their classes from there they want or from where they are and their
will be no excuse for missing classes the only excuse will be is the internet issue. Otherwise
everything is well n good and we can get review assignments, projects, discuss questions with
everyone and can study at any time. Students can attend the classes while sitting at their own
places with their full convenience. They can literally take their classes from wherever and

however. This is the biggest support or facility to those students who have some disabilities
they have the option to work at their own pace. This is the best kind of facility for disable
students who can not go anywhere or have difficulties to go they can their classes very
effectively at their places.
Online learnings are flexible(Boettler and et. al., 2022) . During the time of Covid-19
pandemic , what I experienced is that we can study at any time and with anyone we want . Online
learning gives us the flexibility to manage or to spend time with work, family , friends or to do
any other activity . With this facility , our precious time also gets save. Through online learning
students are able to plan study time table and can manage other things also with study. From
virtual learning peoples like me can easily save time and can adjust time for my some other
activity like sports or etc.. Virtual learning provides us this flexibility that we can enhance our
other skills or can learn new things with studies also (Castro and Tumibay, 2021) . This is the
advantage that we can do several things in a day by adjusting or by management of time.
During pre Covid-19, I faced difficulties in classroom due to lack of focus or any kind of
disturbances , so online learning helped people like me to be more attentive while taking online
classes. This phase have both sides positive as well as negative but here we are discussing the
positive side object . Working from our own choice of environment, with full focus and with self
– paced learning , so that the result can be more personalized learning experience. Since we are
taking classes alone there will be not any kind of disturbance so the focus will be full and we will
give our 100% potential (Urokova, 2020) . Since the everything is online , learning can be done
anywhere there is an internet connection.
This is one of the advantage of online learning that is reduced financial costs or
affordability. In comparison to offline learning, online learning is far more affordable and
cheaper, it helps us in reduces our expenses that happens when we take offline classes. So ,
nowadays people are preferring online classes rather than offline classes. Online learning reduces
our costs or expenses like transportation, real estate etc.. During Covid 19 online classes helps
me to reduce my expenses like transportation as I used to travel through public transport so it
costs me cheaper, the cost is cut down leading to the overall expenses. When it comes to
education world wide than I think its worth it(Dumford and Miller, 2018) .
Some peoples thinks that while studying, online student would not get the same amount
of attention as we get in offline classes. This could be a question but there are many online

courses that gives first preference to interaction with each other. There are several ways to
connect with each others that is like chat section ,zoom meeting . By conducting zoom meeting
we can have a separate session of queries, for further discussions, for any kind of announcement .
Meeting classmates online from all around the world can help us in increasing our knowledge,
which makes us a broad minded participator(Kahu and Nelson, 2018) . Every individual student
has a different journey and a different style of learning.
Online learning has created a different ways to deliver things to students. There are
number of tools and techniques to deliver things such as videos, PDFs, podcasts, images,
teachers can use all these tools as a pattern for their developing skills. By extending the lesson
planning beyond previous textbooks to include resources from online platforms , from this
technique teachers are able to become more efficient educators. Online platforms helps teachers
to enhance their educational skills that will help them and also the students because they will get
to know things easily and in an effective manner. Through online learnings it will be easy for
everyone to understand things easily. Online classes imply an initial learning curve and extra
effort on the teachers behalf to create a successful online courses.
Everything has both perspective positive and negative ,so its important to consider the
disadvantages of online learning. Some people may find that online learning is not for them let
just study it.
Online learning needs screen time and the excess of screen time can create negative
impact on both adults and children. This can harm our eyes ,headaches, neck and back pain. It is
obvious that completing online course means increasing the screen time . For learners or students
like me who are taking online classes need to take some measures actions to avoid symptoms of
the screen time. We can take some measures actions like taking short breaks in between, blue
light classes, and limiting screen time(Kurbakova, Volkova and Kurbakov, 2020) . Online
learning sadly contributes There are better options and learning platforms and software out there
have all kinds of features that can help students staying attentive .
Online learning may create a sense of isolation . Everyone has their own style to learn ,
hey have their specific manner to study. Some people prefers to work alone and some people
loves to work with their friends or in a group or with their fellow students. The fact is that online
classes can generally be quite in nature but still complementing them physically on our own.

This is a major drawback for the students that had already worked in alone. Online learning must
support the social perspective of learning to match the effectiveness of previous classes.
For virtual learning every individual need an electronic device to attend the classes. Students like
me need to buy a laptop or tablet with a keyboard so that this can also help me in doing
assignment but this process is costly to purchase these devices, especially everyone needs
individual devices for their online classes and also the technical issue is a major problem comes
between in while taking online classes . Issues which creates hurdles in taking classes are audio,
video or internet issue (Saeed and et. al., 2018). This is my personal experienced which I faced
during the classes , that sometimes we have to download something or install something from
apps than the technology create inconsistent performance. All over the world internet
connections have improved dramatically.
Online learning can rarely create an focus on class . Students are no longer in that
environment that they can focus dedicatedly to learn , students are literally surrounded by a lot of
distractions like social media, phones, or there are many things which can create disturbance.
The lack of time management skills and communication skills plays a major role in creating
focus. Sometimes students don't give their full focus because not understanding the topic when
learning online (Terrell and Dringus, 2018) . Hopefully, the instructor has come up a way to
contact them to solve their queries , but if not this is frustrating for students and they will likely
cause them to lose focus.
TASK 2
SELF REFLECTION
Before we make any project, lots of plan and strategies are required so that the project
can be completed. When I was making project on the online classes during the pandemic time, I
faced lots of challenges and problem as it was quite difficult for me to do proper research within
less time. As we all know while doing the project proper research is required. So, I had very less
time to complete the project. The first and foremost task was to gather proper and correct data
which was quite time consuming. So, to collect the data, I bought lots of books and articles as
well as took access of different website on the online platform. This was quite expensive for me
as my monthly budget got dis-balanced. Furthermore while collecting the proper and correct data
as well as information my others work were getting hampered. Moreover, my most of the time
was consumed in the data collection which resulted in inability to cope up with the other parts of

the projects. For me, it was very difficult for me to meet the project deadlines as the project was
very lengthy for me. This lead me towards missing the deadline which was quite disappointing
for me. I was unable to do proper time management while making the project which made me
miss deadlines of the projects.
Every project is made for certain reason and one of the reason for me to do this project
was my own experience also. As during the time of COVID, I was also studying through the
online platform only. So, while making this project there are certain aspects which I enjoyed a
lot. I always keep on researching things on online platform. I also enjoyed the time when I was
collecting the data as well as doing deep and intense research. So, when I got this project, I
learned lot of things. Reading different types of articles and books is my favourite part which I
enjoyed a lot. While doing this project I communicated with lot of students and interacting with
them was quite fun for me as I am very keen to interact with people. While making this project I
came to know about lots of things about COVID which I felt was informative and necessary to
know. As I had my own experience of learning online so I added my own feelings and views in
this file. Adding my own feelings in my project was one the best thing which I enjoyed a lot.
Doing this project every individual had different aspects and point of view. So to know their
feelings and their point of views towards the online teaching was informative and enjoyable for
me. Through this my writing and presentation skills got improved which was appreciable and
was necessary for my future.
The lessons which I have learnt while working on this project
While making this report I have learnt various things. Some of that things are following.
Online learning and its importance
Online learning is a modern kind of learning in which a learner could be able to learn
from anyone he wanted. It is basically that education or learning which takes place over internet.
In this learning, various apps, channels and websites are involved. It is a kind of distance
learning in which a learner need not to visit different places to attend lectures. It is important in
various areas such as: saving time which is consumed in travelling, it could be done at anywhere
and in any time and many more. It is helpful in development of advance skills which could not
be developed in academics.

Offline learning and its importance
Offline learning is a kind of traditional learning method in which a learner have to visit
different places such as: schools, colleges, coaching and others. It is easy process of learning as
there are deadlines to do assignments, there are regular tests, there are a lot of other people for
same thing so there is a competitive environment. Such an environment makes a learner willing
to learn and there is a kind of feeling in the learner that he have to pass in the tests.
Area for potential improvement
While working on this project I realized that there are various areas in which I could
make improvements. Following are some of the major skills which I need for development:
Research Skills
These are the ability which allow a researcher to search any content, locate, organize,
extract and other very effectively for a particular topic. It includes various areas such as: report
writing, data collection, analysing and others. I need to improve these skills as while making this
report I faces various challenges which I want to minimize as these challenges wasted a lot of
time. I need to be a good researcher and report writer as according to me these are the basic skills
which should be there in a student.
Critical thinking
It is a kind of skill which is important in analysing and evaluating at any particular topic
or issue very deeply. It is a skills which allows an individual in understanding himself better, it
motivates him and are important in making various kind of projects and research. I need to
develop such skills because I faced various problems while thinking effectively at various topics.
This are very important skills for a student as there are regular work of making various projects
and research while academics and also in corporate life.
CONCLUSION
Based on the above report this can be concluded that the digital platform of learning had
both positive and negative impacts on everyone's life, may it be, personal, professional or
students life. This report helped to get an overview of self-evaluating points while performing a
research, such as, challenges, lesson learned, knowledge acquired, and the skills that are required
to improve in order to enhance future researches and learnings. Along with this, it can be also
concluded that exposure of students to digital platform helped them grasp many new skills and as

well as helped the in being time and cost effective. On the other hand the students and teachers
faced challenges while getting introduced to this phenomenon called online learning.
