1ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Introduction Professional practices nee a constant up gradation to enhance the knowledge and practice. This study is based on an article of professional practice. There would be an analysis of the theories in the section of professional practice in nursing. Other than that the study also includes the effective methods of identifying and analysing the peer reviewed articles. The discussion of two strategies for identifying the right resource for journals would be done. One of these resources would be analysed specifically so that it could be used in future search for resources. Discussion Thetopicofmyinterestistheprofessionaldevelopmentinnursingoccupation. To understand the theories and practices in this subject, an article has been selected. This article is quite effective for the nursing professional who are trying to gain professional self-concept and link them with their clinical performance (Coventry, Maslin‐Prothero & Smith, 2015). To understand the credibility of the article, the CAPR tools is used. The theory of self-concept and professional development is studied in this article (Poorgholamiet al., 2016). Credentials: This is a peer reviewed article that shows its result in primary data collection. The study in this article has been done on the Jahrom University of Medical Sciences in 2013 nursing students. The number of students were 100 and they have been asked question of professional self-concept and clinical knowledge. Accuracy:the data collected are accurate as this is first had data. Relevance:this study is relevant for the nursing students and their professional development.
2ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Purpose:the main purpose of this article is to analyse the connection between self-concept and clinical performance. My approach to identify the right research is that the article must be peer reviewed. In the peer-reviewed journals, the information is available in the database and there is a clear mention of the peer-reviewed articles. To analyse these articles, one must first consider the methodology of the study. To understand that the methodology is appropriate for the study or not and how the author has analysed the data collected is the second priority (Highfieldet al., 2016). All the research gaps of the article must be reviewed in the course. Two main strategy to identify the appropriate peer reviewed journals are- using library data base and to plan my search (Harper, Aucoin & Warren, 2016). Using the library data base gives authenticity to the search, while planning the search would make the process easy and systematic. Library data base the most effective way to find the peer reviewed articles. The resources in the library data bases are scholarly and authentic. The articles are been reviewed by the experts in the subjects and high quality articles are found in the library database resources. Conclusion Finally to could be said that finding the right type of article for the research is quite important. Peer-reviewed articles are of high quality and they are authentic. In the nursing profession to understand the relation between professional knowledge, self-concept and practice are all related. One would get positive outcome if they concentrate on all these theories while performing their job roles.
