INTRODUCTION
The academic writing is a written form of argument and reasoning about specific topic
falling within a filed of the study, such as art, history, science, psychology and many more.
Academic writing is focused, structured, clear, concise and backed up by the evidence purpose is
to help the reader's understanding (Cho, 2017). Academic writing ha formal style and tone , it is
not complex in nature and does not require use of the long sentences and other complicated
vocabulary. Academic writing is considers a means of the producing, transmitting, evaluating,
codifying, learning knowledge, teaching and ideology in the academic discipline. It is essential to
the disciplinary learning and critical for the academic success. Main purpose of the academic
writing is to explain certain research finding or idea and persuade readers that individual's
explanation or theory is correct.
Feature of writing in chosen text
As academic language has unique set of rules: it should be factual, formal and explicit as
well as objective and analytical in nature (Jensen and Campbell, 2017) Individual think that the
academic language should be difficult to write and understand and sound complex but it is not
necessary the case, instead the academic text should be concise and clear in order to communicate
its contents in best way. There is a chosen text that has some features which are described below:
Objectivity- This text is presenting and evaluating the issues and arrives at an objective
position that focus on and is informed by the reasoning and research rather than personal
opinion and feelings. In this, it avoid the personal pronouns, especially you, we and I that
are influenced by the personal preferences. This text is based on the research and not on
any writer's opinion about given topic. In this text, its objectives are concerned about the
facts and not influenced by any personal feelings.
Formal- This text is very explicit that provide the readers with all information that they
need in order to understanding its meaning (Ferguson, 2019). It is in written in formal
context that frequently relies on the reader to supply some extra information that compete
the messages. It is very factual, accurate and concise. It efforts to construct a meaningful
sentences, arguments and paragraphs that make this text easy to comprehend.
