emails, diary, journal
entries, articles, etc.

Difference between academic and other writing: Purpose and features of academic
writing:
Purpose:
The academic writing is evidenced with
required research, evidence, clearness,
consciences along with the main purpose of
raising of awareness and understanding of the
reader. Although it is having formal and
adequate style but at the same time it is not
complex to get it understand.
Features:
The language that is being used in the
academic writing is complex in comparison of
the spoken language.
Formality is one of the major feature that
depict the academic writing.
All the facts and figures that are associated
with the academic writing are precise.
Key elements of academic writing:
Thesis:
Thesis make focus over the idea of the
research paper.
It refers to the author or writer argument that
would be against and insight of the research
topic.
Evidences:
Academic writing will not be possible
without the aspect of evidences.
This is the major part of the academic
writing and it include the data, facts,
questions and various other aspects.
Key vocabulary issues and types of
abbreviations:
Vocabulary issues:
The key vocabulary issues would include the
non-expression of thoughts and ideas of an
individual with the choosing of wrong
vocabulary.
It also includes the issue of the wrong
interpretation of the meaning if the
vocabulary used was not appropriate.

Acronyms
Initialism
Truncations
Portmanteau

Academic writing is one of the formal
mode of writing which is generally used
for the research papers and writing.
It is the formal mode of writing that is
made for the purpose of raising of
understanding and analysis of the
evidences.
