DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC
The ruthless disease of covid-19 in the world is first is a very severe and critical human
tragedy that has affected millions and billions of people around the globe. The world is suffering
because of the coronavirus pandemic. The problems created by the disease called covid-19 that
have emerged from it, not into a particular region, have been affected and infected the entire
earth.
The problem is the covid-19 pandemic, a severe disease discovered in 2019 caused by a
deadly virus called coronavirus. Covid-19 disease was first found in China and gradually led to
its spread in the world. The condition and the virus can be easily transmitted through humans and
lives on different metals for multiple hours. They can quickly be affecting any human being in
contact with the surface of the virus.
At the end of the year 2019, the virus seems to be only in China, and by the passing of
time with a breakneck pace, it became a global pandemic which has led to the number of saving
your consequences been taken by multiple countries and international borders (Fraser and et. al.,
2021). The problem of covid-19 pandemic began to affect industries and businesses and the
economies of different countries, which lead to strict measures being implemented by various
nations to keep the spread of the virus and maintain the safety of the people in the world.
Coronavirus or the covid-19 disease spread like a chain, and for breaking the chain, the world

came to a common solution that is a blocking human contact and making the cities and countries
goes into a complete lockdown.
In few months with gradual passage of time the spread of coronavirus became a huge and
alarming situation which caused millions of deaths in the entire globe and lead the countries to
go under lockdown and sealing with their International borders. The results of numerous
restrictions imposed by different governments over their Nations for protecting people and
mankind and blocking of international trade resulted in crashing of economies of different
developed and developing Nations around the world.
The businesses were shut down during the covid-19 pandemic International borders was
sealed hands no trade was taking place between any country and this resulted in blockage of flow
of money. Number of people lost their jobs as companies start a downsizing as we could not
afford to pay salaries to their employees without any sales and business going on. Sever impacts
was imposed on number of industries and business operations and a very dangerously affected
industry due to the entire situation of coronavirus and the disease covid-19 is hospitality industry
and other sectors of it (Liu and et. al., 2021).
Hospitality industry is a wide scope of business operative collaboration which has four
sectors that are accommodation, food and beverage, travel and tourism and last but not the least
is recreation. All these four sectors of the hospitality industry were affected and severely
declined because of the outbreak of the virus. The problem initiated for these respective sectors
of hospitality and leisure business was when the international borders was sealed and economy
was shut down. People from different countries were not allowed to visit International places for
tourism purposes in order to break the cycle of the virus and local population was locked in their
houses as lockdown was imposed.
This aspect resulted in closing of thousands of small hospitality businesses that includes
food and beverage, travel and tourism, leisure and accommodation as well as recreation. The
commercial influence and effect on travel and tourism of coronavirus accounted for the
unprecedented travel restrictions and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation stated that
the international tourism will be reduced with around 20 to 30% in the year 2020 in comparison
with the last years figures.
Another severe impact of the covid-19 pandemic was over the employments and
professional engagement in the hospitality sector. The world travel and tourism council warned

that the covid-19 pandemic will lead to a 50 million job cuts in the entire world for travel and
tourism industry. Along with it a study conducted as per an Oxford economics Asia stated that it
is expected dada covid-19 will be impacting in the worst manner to the leisure travel and tourism
industry and it would take months or years for it to overcome the stress developed due to the
virus (Li, Yao and Chen, 2021).
Another concerning challenge that is being faced by the leisure travel and tourism
industry as well as hospitality industry was of long term impacts imposed by the pandemics over
the different sectors. Due to the increasing threat of the virus people around the globe are very
scared and taking precautions on their own for breaking the cycle of the virus. This precautions
that having taken by people are very general but very critical for the hospitality industry and
separate sectors of it. Travellers not travelling and will be not travelling for a longer period of
time seeming the pandemic and following the basic rules developed. Food bloggers and regular
dining’s in the restaurants as well as online orders have seen decline in the past due to the virus
and spread of it. The reduction in travelling activities of people automatically effects all the four
sectors of hospitality industry along with it people are also not interested in conducting any
events which includes large gatherings which also influence the revenues of the industry and
small or large businesses operating in it.
The hospitality industry have been severely affected and impacted as well as emotional
terms due to the virus which resulted in certain negative actions being taken by operations and
large businesses. The very first action that was taken by companies for reducing their cost and
managing their survival in the industry for the year was laying of people and job cuts. During
this critical time it was very unfortunate the people of hospitality industry have lost their jobs as
well as future career oriented students do not have any scope in the next one year to be employed
in the hospitality sector and work for their passion (He and Harris, 2020). During the pandemic
when the world was suffering and the mankind was under which laws the hospitality industry
have also conducted good deeds and reacted to the problem in a positive manner. Several large
accommodation business organisations supported the governments for opening the borders and
offered their services for current timing International travellers and people so that we can roam
around in the country without any fear of carrying the virus. Along with the number of different
food and beverage businesses provided free food and services to needy people in their countries
and surrounding them such as beggars who do not have any home to live and food to eat,

supporting the families who’s incomes are blocked and stopped due to the virus lose their jobs,
providing free nutritious food to health care providers and the families suffering with the virus
who are unable to help themselves and our home quarantining. These are some of the good deeds
and positive reactions of different hospitality businesses that were conducted during the outbreak
of the coronavirus and for reducing the sufferings of the people a little bit in the world
(Romagosa, 2020).
CONCLUSION
From the discussion conducted about in the essay it can be clearly represented that
coronavirus have impacted the hospitality, leisure and travel organisations in the entire world in
a very critical manner. Thousands of businesses belonging to the hospitality industry were shut
down, several business owners announce to bankruptcy and millions of potential employees as
well as future candidates lost their chance to work in the industry as their passion and for
fulfilling their dreams. The world have learnt due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and of the
pandemic which led the hospitality industry as well to work in positive manner and conducted
several good deeds.
