Topic #1 nicotine
Nicotine like many other chemical compounds has several pros and cons. This must be
noted that there are both pros and cons to nicotine consumption. Many working professionals
have the habit of smoking as they feel that it is a kind of refreshment and also they feel
energized. There is a calming effect of nicotine that acts as a stimulus in case of the long
stressful working hours. However, it just is ensured that the working professionals are getting
refreshments amid their work. It is for this reason that they often go out during their free time in
the smoking zones (Faulkner et al. 2017). This helps them in getting a company of the other
working professionals and also they can develop a very calm and soothing sensation in
themselves.
This will ensure that they can go back to their work with an increased sense of calm and
better concentration power. However, apart from increasing the concentration power and
bringing in a sense of calmness, there are some other harmful impacts as well. Passive smoking
will harm others who are not in the habit of consumption of nicotine. This can happen due to the
passage of smell. After smoking the smell of nicotine is present on the hands, mouth and the
clothes of the smoker. This may cause trouble for others. Addiction and cardiovascular damage
are also some of the significant impacts.
