Linda should create a survey and send it out to all of the district’s high school principals, asking
them to complete it as soon as they can.
This is because as she is working as a superintend of Jolla del Mar Unified School District, she
must be very busy and will naturally not let the time to go out to the Principals and take the
interviews or analyze the kinds of answers that is being given by the principals of the high
school. The first option is not possible because she will not be able to get to the root cause of the
problem or to find out the solution. It is also not ethical on the part of Linda to use only those
principals as her respondents with whom she has a good term. The survey must always be carried
on based on the different and also a very large number of respondents. It is because of this reason
that the survey must always be carried on by abiding the different ethical rules and regulations.
On the other hand, leaving the decision onto others that is on other representatives for collecting
the data is also not a wise decision. This is because the principals of the high schools might not
be able to understand the actual reasons of why the research is being conducted. It is because of
this reason that the one who is trying to conduct the survey must try to send a written message
via the circulation of the survey or the questionnaire. This will enable the principals to read the
message and also go through the survey or the questionnaires and take their time in framing their
answers. After Linda receives the answers or the responses from the respondents, then she will
be able to understand the opinions and also gain some knowledge about the actual benefits that
they are getting from the professional development skills that have been introduced.
