Project Scope Statement
Scope Description
In order to enhance the company’s profitability by increasing its annual sales, Royale
Pizza has proposed an internal renovation project. Royale pizza is a pizza company that was
established in the year 2007 and now it delivers around 40 different types of classic and
gourmet pizzas. The renovation project involves buying new equipment in order to completely
reconstruct the pizza shop which will help the company to expand its businesses (Ahern,
Leavy and Byrne 2014). Furthermore, SMART goal concept and case study information can
be used to list the specifics of the project requirements that comprises of the following:
Installation of air conditioning systems
Flooring
Increasing the capacity of the compressor
Dust free painting
Point of Sale (POS) system with required hardware and software configurations installed.

Project Deliverables
The renovation project of Royale Pizza is estimated to bring around 25% hike in the
company profitability. In addition to that, the main purpose of this project is to increase the
business boundaries of the company. Royale pizza has decided to serve not only pizzas but
several other types of foods as well, that includes pastas and chips. Furthermore, the
measuring aspect of SMART goal concept can be used to take suggestive inputs from the
customers regarding their preferable foods. There are several tools and techniques can be used
for the potential measurement of this aspect (Crawford 2014). The deliverables of this project
comprises of the following services:
Reconstruction of the shop
Procurement
Sourcing
Successful installation of new equipments
The proper implementation of these deliverables will have a huge positive impact on
the company’s economy graph. 25% is the estimated profit percentage that may get exceeded
further with the proper incorporation of the required systems. Also, with the renovation project
a reconstructed mainframe can be attained which will serve more than one type of food to its
customers. Using the concepts of SMART goal, almost all the deliverables of the renovation
project are attainable. Therefore, the stakeholders have to be completely ensured about the

Project Acceptance Criteria
Although the deliverables of the project are pretty clear, there are certain criteria that
are needed to be fulfilled in order to achieve the goals (Harrison and Lock 2017). Without
fulfilling the acceptance criteria, achieving a successful completion of the renovation project is
not possible. One of the prime acceptance criteria that is needed to be followed is that the
equipment installation has to be done after the completion of construction processes. Since
more space is required in terms of food preparation the rear stairs of the shop must be
removed.
Project Exclusions
It is to be noted that the renovation project does not include any kind of reconstruction
in the company’s refund policies (Hák Janoušková and Moldan 2016). This is one aspect that
the company needs to work on in the near future. The billing of the shop has a poor refund
system as it involves refunds in coupon forms that may create huge complexities for the
customers later.
Project Constraints
As raised by the technical manager during the first meeting with the company owners,
one of the prime constraints of this project is the installation and construction phases cannot be
done within the same period of time. In order to deal with this constraint, the tasks need to be
completed one at a time. Another minor constraint is that, the rear stairs have electric wires

beneath them. Therefore, the constructors need to be alert while removing those wires. The
installation phase gets followed after the completion of this phase. Approximately $40,000 is
needed for the successful completion of this project that will last for over 4 months (taking in
account, the installation and construction phases do not overlap).
Project Assumptions
Although there are uncertainties regarding the project completion in due time,
following and maintaining the project schedule mentioned in this report can help a lot in
avoiding it (Kerzner 2017). Since the shop will be closed during some of the phases, any
further delay in the project will lead to a penalty of $300 a day for the contractors. Therefore,
early precautions have to be taken in order to avoid such mishap.
Project delivery methodologies
There are several life cycle methodologies in the field of project management (Karaman
and Kurt 2015). Some of the popular methodologies are: Agile, Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban,
Waterfall, XP and Lean.
