Introduction
Australian Computing Society (ACS) has provides a set of six principles to maintain ethical
compliance and follow professional code of conduct in the business organizations. The six
principles include primacy of public interest, enhancement of quality of life, honesty,
competence, professional development, and professionalism (Acs, 2014). There are various
business processes and operations that are carried out. It is necessary that these processes abide
by the six principles specified by ACS.
One such scenario is analyzed from the point of view of the ACS code of ethics & professional
conduct.
Scenario Background
The scenario includes the discussion between the Program Director and the Project Manager
regarding the request from the Sponsor for early launch of the project. The Project Manager
wishes to deliver the project before the due deadline to meet the expectations of the project
sponsor so that there are new business opportunities that are created. However, the Program
Director explains that the encryption functionality is not included in the system and the team will
not be able to implement the same if early launch is done. The absence of encryption may lead to
security implications, such as hacking and loss of data. The Project Manager insists that the
client is provided with the system without encryption and the functionality can be implemented
in the next update (Youtube, 2019).

Primacy of Public Interest
It is the principles under ACS code that states that the members in a project team and the
business organization shall also prioritize the public interests. Also, the business operations must
reflect the same.
However, in the scenario provided, the Project Manager wishes to deliver the incomplete system
to the project sponsor. The decision to do so may result in the occurrence of security risks and
