To determine the current methods for maintaining quality in education.
To recommend ways to maintain quality in eduction through teaching methods.

TASK 1
1.1 Purpose of action research
Education sector use different types of methods that help to meet with the need of
learners and also efforts to maintain quality of eduction which is very essential for professional
as well as personal career growth. With the help of action research and techniques related with
these methods is important as it supports to improve or maintain quality more than before.
Action research is the study carried out in course of the occupation or activity, usually in field of
education. It contributes to improve approach and methods of those include in education sector
effectively. The main purpose of action research is to resolve the specific issues and to make
guidelines for effectual practices in context of education (Pekrun and Linnenbrink-Garcia,
2014). Action research is structured procedure of inquiry by and for people taking action.
Primary reason for conducting this activity is to assist people doing study to refine or improve
the issue seen to want improvement. Action research help to identify any issues in education and
apply methods to improve it better than previous.

1.2 Features of action research process
Action research provide many benefits as it give the framework of systematic research
into teaching practice. It is local and centring directly on problems surrounding the classroom,
learners and teacher 'in education system. Professional development is the main feature of action
researcher, it is manageable, small and achievable yet effective and it will be done when teaching
usual subjects. Action research includes activity in that it seeks to carry about change, generally
in local educational context. It analysis data and entails collection of information effectively
which is the main feature or characteristic of action research (Harland, 2014). It is systematic
multi staged cyclical procedure which want to improve teaching practice through implementing
incremental and informed change. AR is characterised by its clear phase which include the
consideration of activity, use of data gathering on action, implementation of the act for
development and improvement to individual practice, determination of future opportunities for
improving intervention and review of act through consideration of specific data.
1.3 Implicate model of action research
Warner Burke’s 7-step Action Research Model is appropriate theory for this study as
it helps to provide seven stage to implement change and improve quality in education. This plan
contribute to achieve desire short or long term goals, gather feedback to measure outcomes,
implement interventions and transfer knowledge and skills learned to embed process into
teaching practices. It is used to solve challenges relate with education quality and need of
learners. It helps to design proper intervention and also help to analyse problems within
practices. Entry, contracting, collection data, giving feedback, strategic planning, designing
interventions and evaluating interventions are the 7 stages of this model that helps to reshape the
educational practices included within it (Kim and et.al., 2015). This model help to improve
performance at every levels and also support to align actions with strategies of management and
develop leadership effectively. It is the best method to facilitate change in context of quality of
education by helping include learner system in the diagnostic, problem solving procedure, active
learning and problem finding process.

2.1 Justify the area of choice with action research
Education helps in the professional development for the educators where they provide the
trainings to the learners. Professional development involves in improving the classroom
teachings. As action research is the formative study to do the improvement by the teachers in
schools that includes the spiral process in this the problem is being investigated, actions were
taken and find the facts regarding the result of action. Action research is favourable for the
person who wants to improve their performance. Action research is mostly used for the
education specially in context of teachers so that they can improve their skills of teachings as
well as learnings of the students as it foster the professional growth and their development.
Action research is being conducted in four key elements:
Consist of practitioner that works as a team.
Focus on common issue, problem and goal.
Development in the synergy that inspire to all.
Create the momentum towards the problem, growth learning and the growth relative issue is
being investigated.
2.2 Plan clear intervention strategy
Plan of clear intervention strategy made to enhance the skills of learnings.
Plan : In this stage of research, the researcher needs to plan the research in the context of
questions as well as the changes they investigate. In this the research need to consider the
methods that is being taken into the consideration at the same research must be conducted in the
logical and structured manner.
Action : In this stage the researcher will implement the plan made above.
Observe : in this stage the researcher will collect the data from different sources that may include
Quantitative as well as qualitative.
Formulation and implementation of the strategy : it is very important to formulate the strategy by
review the information gained in analysis so that they can improve the skills of learning at the
same it is also equally important to implement the strategy that is being made. Many times the
current structure is not appropriate the new structure may implement.

Evaluation : it is simple as the evaluation of strategy and control actions includes the
measurement of performance. It is also important to monitor the new started (Williams and
Oumlil, 2015).
2.3 Justify the choice and time scales
Choice making in intervention strategy can help in reducing the problem behaviour,
increase motivation and develop the personal freedom. As the intervention is the strategies that is
being designed in producing the behaviour changes and improve the techniques in learnings. It is
very important to choose the right techniques so that the right strategy is being implemented. At
the same the strategies that is being chosen must be implemented on the proper time scale so that
it can give the desired result.
2.4 Ethical and political issues and confidentiality
It is very important in the research that the study remains ethical and obtain the consent
from everyone who are involved in the research. Ethical issues and the ways to treat them were
discussed such as informed consent, confidentiality and anonymity to protect an individual from
any harm. In the research there is a need to consider all the ethical issues if any practice is being
followed. It is being ensured that the learners must understand their personal data and responses
reported and must be stored for the data protection act. Political consideration of the country is
essential and must be communicated to them about the research conducted on it.
2.5
Implement a clear intervention strategy
Implementation of clear intervention strategy is the way that assure the key aspects of
promising approaches and it must be put in practice so the effective outcomes can be arrived.
Implement of the intervention strategies is based on the learnings that is been come from
research and the experience. Even it often requires to assure the technical assistance and also
adapt the intervention in the different changing condition especially in the different place,
location and situation. Effective way in implementing the intervention is the key process in
helping the community and to change the pattern of learning and also improve the outcome for
the “real world” impact. Also if it is implemented properly it helps the community in taking the

initiative for the betterment in the future. So it is important to implement the clear strategy that is
being formulated (Merriam and Tisdell, 2015).

Research Methodology
Research methodology is being defined as the systematic plan of doing the research,
researchers draw the several qualitative and quantitative research methods that includes the
surveys, observations, experiments and the secondary data as well. It aims in gathering the depth
information by having the selected method in research.
3.1 Methods in action research.
Research type
Research is being broadly defined as the systematic gathering of data and information
and also do their analysis for advancement of knowledge. Research is being divided into two
parts that is qualitative and quantitative research. Quantitative research is being considered as
those deals in the numbers and that can be measurable. Qualitative research is exploitive in
nature as it includes the thoughts, trends, opinion and the problem
Research philosophy
Research Philosophy is the way in which the data is being related to phenomenon is
gathered, analysed and used. Research philosophy is very wide topic and covers all the aspect of
data that is being gathered and analysed. Research philosophy is of two types that is
interpretivism and positivism. In interpretivism research allows the research to interpret ate the
elements of study to integrate the interest in study. Positivism research is highly structured
collects the large samples and it is based on the fact that factual knowledge is being gained
through the observation that includes the trustworthiness as well as measurement (Merriam and
Tisdell, 2015). in this research the positivism philosophy is being used that helps in finding the
result and data.
Research design
Research design is the method and techniques that is being chosen by the researcher to
combine the different components of research, it is used in the dissertation. Design is being
comprised of two types that is conclusive and the exploratory research design. Conclusive
