Instructions to Assessor
Prior to conducting the assessment read this document in its entirety with the individual or
group of learners and seek feedback on the understanding of the assessment requirements and
outcomes.
Contextualise the activities, observations/demonstrations and other submitted evidenceto
ensure it reflects the individual learner or group. Check this against the mapping, to ensure it
is still valid. This assessment has been contextualised to better reflect the required learner
information and outcome of assessment.
Ensure that the learner is allocated the appropriate time and resources required for the tasks,
including that the workplace (or simulated environment for learners that are not working) is
suitable for the parameters of any required task, to ensure the learners will have an
appropriate opportunity to satisfactorily demonstrate their required skills and knowledge to
result in a Satisfactory (S) result for the assessment tool and Competent (CO) in the Unit of
Competency (UOC) overall.
Advise the learner prior to conducting a practical observation assessment of;
what will occur throughout the assessment process
when the assessment will occur
the level of competency expected
how many times they must be assessed and demonstrate a satisfactory result as per the
unit training pack requirements
When appropriate, confirm arrangements for athird party to observe the learner in the
workplace, with the learner and the third party, including, that the third party understands the
requirements and instructions regarding the Third PartyObservations/Demonstrations. The
third party must be someone in a position to make a valid comment on performance of the
learner, e.g. Line Manger
Use the checklists and answer guides to assist you with marking, but never show or share
them with the learner or the third party. Gather supporting documents, where available and
appropriate, as evidence to help you make a judgement of the learner’s competency.
The learner needs to be deemed satisfactory for all of the criteria in the unit to gain
competency. When the assessment is complete, advise the learner of the outcome and record
your comments in the relevant section. You must determine whether they are CO or Not
Competent (NC) and provide appropriate and meaningful feedback.
If you are resulting the learner NC, ensure you outline why you have made this decision, and
provide advice on how the learner can improve skills/knowledge prior to their next attempt.

Where learners are unable to complete the tasks in the methods specified due to situations
beyond your/their control, you will need to make reasonable adjustments, without
compromising the assessment tool(s).
Assessment Instructions to Learners

3. Submit the completed assessment on the specific date, time and location as advised by
your trainer/assessor.
4. This is an individual assessment task (or group subject to approval by the
trainer/assessor).
5. Assessment answers must be typed using Microsoft Word (font size: 11, font: Calibri)
or handwritten as per the trainer/assessor instructions.
6. You are NOT allowed to copy straight from any internet-based or written materials
available. You must write your answers in your own words.
7. You are required to provide proper and appropriate referencing (if applicable).
8. You are NOT allowed to copy or attempt to copy the work of another student or permit
another student to copy or attempt to copy your work.
9. Penalties shall apply for copying, plagiarism and any improper use of materials or
ignoring instructions given by the trainer/assessor. Penalties may include failure of the
unit and/or other penalties as per the college’s academic misconduct policy.
10. It is your responsibility to attend to your classes and seek assistance from the
trainer/assessor to ensure you continuously succeed in good course progress and
academic standing. Remember all trainer/assessors are here to help so ask them if you
feel you need it.

Objective To provide you with an opportunity to assess international trade patterns and
identify their likely importance for the business.
What are the current international trade patterns in your industry and how do these affect your
business?(100 words)
The current international trade pattern is revolutionizing of business to consumer sales and providing
customers with higher retail shopping experience. Operations of business have experienced fundamental
change with continued improvement and development in e commerce business. There is increase in content
of international trade in goods with the rapid development of electronic commerce and information
technology. Electronic e commerce applications in the international trade are done in ways that involves
internet mode, EDI mode and intranet mode. Features that incorporate into the electronic commerce market
are products and services information as the centre of trade pattern of change and increase in technological
trade (Aghamirian et al. 2015).
How might a recession negatively affect global demand and the economy?100 word
The global economy will be adversely impacted in terms of higher unemployment, fall in real incomes, rise
in poverty, increase in income inequality, reduced level of output and higher level of borrowings. Sales
transactions can witness quick response to the transactions such as sales that would have cascading impact
on supply chain that will results in large contractions and expansions of production, orders, inventories and
shipment. Moreover, there will be reduction in consumption expenditures that would increase saving rate
and reduce spending by customers and therefore, reducing the demand of electronic commerce goods.
Hence, there would be visible impact on technological sector driven by electronic e commerce (Andersson
et al. 2016).

Objective
To provide you with an opportunity to research international business and electronic
commerce market factors, and assess opportunities to enter, shape or influence the
market for their likely contribution to the business.
Provide what international business and electronic commerce market factors affect to enter (in terms
of marketing), shape or influence that market.(100 words)
The factors that shape or influence e commerce market and international business involves industrial
structure, distribution service factors, factors related to customer service, cost of funding, distribution
channel and assistance from government, cost of funds, political and cultural groupings, investment rates
and political system (businessinsider.com 2018). If the government is willing to assist entrants, this will
increase opportunity to enhance their service schemes. Legislation of different countries also determines the
potential of electronic commerce to flourish in the different market.
The facilitation of cross border electronic commerce lacks required flexibility in terms of large-scale
container international supply chain. Supply chain process increase the information accessibility of business
and this would help in integration of procurement process.

Objective To provide you with an opportunity to identify international markets operating
under free trade or protectionist arrangements and estimate likely ease of entering
and trading successfully.
Define the free trade and protectionist agreements.(100 words each)
Free trade agreements are the agreements between countries for conducting international trade without any
trade barriers and factors such as trade. There are explicuts provisons conecrning ecommerce in the
arrangement of free trade. The purpose of such arrangement is to lower barriers and imposition of no
customs on electronic transmission.
Protectionist agreements helps nations in protecting their domestic workers and industries by placing tariffs
and subsidization of production (Oaic.gov.au 2018). Hpwever, such agreements would create difficulties for
entering the indysry in market of country having protected industry.

Provide three countries with free trade arrangement and those with protectionist ones.
The three countries that are involved in feee trade agreements involves China, Australia and Central
America.
Three countries with protectionist involves India, China and United States.
Activity/Task 4
Objective
To provide you with an opportunity to identify international trade policies and
agreements and estimate their likely impact on international marketing
opportunities.
Explain the following (less than 50 words each):
Customs unions- Custom unions refer to group of countries that maintains an external affair for the
purpose of trade with non-member countries and trading between themselves for removing tariffs.
Bilateral trade agreements- It refers to such trade agreements where a mutually beneficial
arrangement is agreed between two trading groups and providing a purchasing guarantee.
Multi-lateral trade agreements-It refers to agreement where goods and services are traded between
three or more nations by arriving at mutually beneficial arrangements. Such agreement helps in
removing all sort of trade barriers and providing guarantee for purchase.

What effects might these have on international marketing opportunities?
Such arrangements and agreements will help in promotion of regional economic integration and help in
building a shared approach to trade and investment. This would involve broader acceptance of product
standards and enhancing the competitiveness of exports. Countries will experience enhance trade
opportunities of countries involved and increasing the attractiveness as an investment destination
(Oaic.gov.au 2018).
Task/Activity 5
Objective To provide you with an opportunity to identify and analyse impact of economic,
political, social and cultural factors affecting international marketing opportunities.
Describe the economic, political, social and cultural factors that may affect international marketing
opportunities in the country that you may potentially want to market in (less than 100 words each).
The international marketing opportunities are impacted by the economic factors and one of the valuable
contributors of development of company is initiatives taken by government.
Purchasing powers of customers are related to their financial status and customer behaviour plays a very

important role in determining demand for products.
Desire of any industry to enter into the market is influenced by the political factors such as taxation laws,
political stability, initiatives of government to help development of industry.
Cultural factors involve emotional relationship and attachment with the products of companies and a great
deal of local consumer behaviour is impacted by cultural factor. One of the factors that are of paramount
importance in international market opportunities is the cultural sensitivity. Motivation of customers for
purchasing products and services influences the products purchase (Oaic.gov.au 2018).
