topic. The concept mapping for this paper will focus on the summative patient scenario and the
relationship between the aspects in the scenario and the chosen articles of study in the
subsequent sections. Moreover, the concept mapping will make us of the activities of daily living
(ADLS) assessment tool in nursing practices in the paper, which involves observing of the
personal care, eating, and moving the patients around. This will link the ideas in the given
scenario given in question to the indicated articles in relation to using to the ADLS assessment

subjected to pain and growing weak on daily basis (Macken et al., 2018, p401. The 59-year-old
patient is observed to have untreatable ascitis caused by cirrhosis that requires him to be taken to
Intensive Care Units on regular basis. The regular demand to be rushed to for check up all the

time is tedious to his family and can be addressed by examining the patient’s daily activities.
However, the ascites condition can be treated through oral diuretic and low-salt diets that are
implemented through scheduling and a strict monitoring of the patient to ensure the rightful diet
is administered. Furthermore, studies indicate that proper planning for physical functional status
(PFS) of the ICU patients improves the recovery cycle of the victims. Therefore, the data from
the case scenario could be essential in a study of assessing of the physical functional state of

about by the trauma they go through.
This is shown by Ravi, who undergoes both physical and emotional pain in his daily live
due to the chronic illness. The patient lacks the means and the measures for the pain management
that has led to anxiety and restlessness in his life. The literature reviews addresses this nursing
problem can be addressed through implementation of palliative care units for the victims. These
units provides specialized medical care by focussing on the provision of relief from stress and

symptoms to the chronic illness (Perri et al., 2018, pp.92-99). The authors further claim that such
units will ensure a pyschological relief to the family members who had initial had to keep up
with the torment and stress brought about by the suffering patient as supported by (Petrinec and
Daly, 2016, pp.57-78). Morover, the problems identified early in the essay could lead to serious
implications such as complete loss of counsciousness or death.
