INTRODUCTION
Domestic abuses can be defined as a specific pattern of behaviours in any relationship
that is utilized to gain or maintain control over an individual. The form of domestic abuse can be
physical, sexual, emotional along with psychological consisting of actions or threats in order to
influence other individual. Domestic abuses involves behaviour that frightens, intimidates and
injures someone. It can happen to anyone irrespective of their age, race, orientation or gender.
The following essay will consist understanding the topic of adult domestic abuse in family along
with laws, polices and social care provided. The essay will also summaries development
regarding legislation, policy and social care along with development of an argument relative to
the topic.
MAINBODY
The topic of support required by adults who are exposed to domestic violence is crucial
to understand in order to gain the perspective of how and what initiates such incidents. The topic
is important to be evaluated in order to understand what actions can be taken in order to provide
the essential support to the adults who have encountered domestic violence. The crime survey
from England and Wales cover the ages of 16 to 59 years old. The fugues for the ending of
march 2015 have elaborated that both adult men and women have been a victim of domestic
violence(Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme). Although the survey has highlighted adult
women are more likely to suffer from domestic violence almost twice more and start to
experience domestic violence at the age of 16. the survey highlights that both adult men and

women have reported mental as well as emotional problems as a consequence of domestic abuse
which have been followed by difficulties in trusting people or in other relationships. This makes
it vital to provide them necessary support in order to reduce the overall negative impact on the

of domestic violence and to provide aid to adults who have are a victim of domestic violence it is
crucial to gain support of laws as well as policies in order to protect abused individuals. In
addition to this, there has to be essential social care support to provide individuals of domestic
violence all necessary need such as emotional and physical therapy that can allow them to have a
normal life and have a positive impact on society.
The laws such as the Humans Rights Act 1998 has a essential role in providing support
to adults who have been a victim of domestic violence. The law allows the state to effectively
intervene in privates and family life in order to protect the health as well as rights of the victim.
In addition to this, the Care Act 2014 enables the local authorities to provide service to adults
who have been a victim of domestic abuse and provide them well being. The Care Act 2014
requires safeguarding adults boards who are provide with the duty to safeguard inquiries in

how have suffered from domestic violence may not be able to protect themselves and are

enables the authorities to discloses information to a victims or a potential victims of domestic

social support of authorities. The NHS further provide necessary helpline in order to help both
adult men and women who are a victims of domestic violence. In addition to this the NHS
provided essential details on their website in order to provide crucial detail to both the victim as

the awareness related tot he topic of domestic violence and how individuals can effectively
identify and help people who are a victim of domestic violence. These established policies , laws
along with social care can help in reducing and hopefully eliminating the issues of domestic
violence of adults. This will help in promoting a harmonious society where individuals can live
