Executive summary
Purpose of the report
To improve communication and understanding between new employees and managers,
The Pittsfield Mall Outlet adopted a training regimen that allows up to twenty-hours training
period for its employees (Fernández-Aráoz, 2014). The main purposes of the report are:
Identifying the technical hitches in communication between various firm managers and
employees and identifying suitable methods of training and the required amount of time that will
translate into a successful working environment for all employees.
Additionally, the firm surveyed to determine the cause of accelerated employee turnover
and the confusion rate taking place at Evening Shades location. The report also captures
employees views on whether the training meets their needs and other addressed issued or not.
Finding and conclusions of the report
The survey played a major role in reaching out to employees and addressing most of the
crucial issues (Oladapo, (2014). Results from the survey confirm that there was no consistency in
training. Despite the corporate’s allocated twenty-four hour training period, Evening Shades only
permits nine hours because of payroll constraints. The confusion was caused mainly by variation
in work templates which managers use to assign duties. This variation was found to be caused by
lack of common templates available to managers forcing them to use their own devices to create
documents for assigning duties and overseeing the completion of the tasks allocated.
