The workplace that is chosen to be discussed below is a hospital. Maintaining
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) measures is extremely crucial in one such working field
(Macdonald et al. 2012). The health security of the patients are directly dependent on the
conditions of the hospital.

The Commonwealth WHS policies that are followed here are:
 Ensure health and safety of the Commonwealth employees on an urgent basis.
 Protect people at workplaces from any health and safety hazards.
 Promote a working environment that is adapted to the health requirements of the
employees.
 Encourage communication between the employees and employers.

The vital WHS regulations to be followed in a hospital include:
o Adequate training of staffs regarding WHS norms and policies.
o Maintain cleanliness of the hospital campus.
o Medical apparatus used must be disinfected and healthy for usage.
o Employees must be aware of what medical factors they are dealing with.
o Proper risk assessment must be done to identify chemical and biological hazards.
o Prohibit the use of non-prescript drugs or alcohol in or around the hospital (Anon
2017).
