2 ADVANCED NETWORK DESIGN PART I – Development of Questionnaire 1.1 Questions for Users What is the expected response time for the network to be designed? What are the applications being installed in the systems that require internet connectivity? What is preferred type of media to establish connections with the network? What type of devices are being connected in the network and what devices will be connected for accessing the services? 1.2 Questions for management The network will be used and accessed by how many users? How many departments of the sports complex will be accessing the network? Does the network have to be centralized for interconnecting the different departments? Do the network have to be expanded if there is growth in users or demand of the sports complex? 1.3 Questions for staffs For what major purposes you will be accessing or using the network? What type of applications are required for your daily work or performing certain activities? Is there requirement of internet connectivity for all the applications being installed in the systems? What number of users are being connected through LAN (Local Area Network)? Is there a requirement of shared services for users within network of 1.4 Purpose of each question The set of Questionnaire is prepared with a set of questions for those users only who are allowed to access the proposed network. With the help of questionnaire set different data can be gathered related based on the requirements.According to the user’s need the information are collected and the participant team involve guest users, sport complex staffs and management members. Based on the invoice gathered from the questionnaires the network solution should have to be prepared accordingly. In order to fulfill the needs of the users and the sport complex the reliable and effective network solution is required to be prepared. Not only this but also the issues associated to network solution or the challenges facing by the user can also be addressed by analyzing the generated resultants. 1.5 Validation and verification plan In order to improve the system as per the given agreement it is mandatory for the network designer to validate and verify the collected information. The information those have been collected is needed to be
3 ADVANCED NETWORK DESIGN dissected accordingly to undertake the objectives so that the requirements can meet. Based on the arrangements the situation flow of the business and the requirements should be accomplished. A successful financial planning is also required to accomplish the task within the estimated time. The exactness of the cost estimation will make sure that the network solution is meeting the project requirements. System consistency will enhance the focus of the solution. 4 ADVANCED NETWORK DESIGN Simulation of the network 2.2 Performance analysis of the network The network has been designed with the help of Cisco Packet tracer simulation software to analyze performance on each set of provided applications. The configuration of the routers and switches has been done as per the provided required so that performance testing can be carried out on the network. The testing of network performance showed that there is successful packet transfer within the network without any loss or delay. The transmission of packets within the network has been analyzed and it has been identified that the response time is as per the requirement and expectation of users in the sports complex network. The time for transmission of packets has been recorded through the simulation software and it is identified that it is as per the determined requirements. The real time traffic analysis has been used for the designed network and it was found that the network is stable and consistent.
