INTRODUCTIONThe different element of language and literacy links and have a strong purpose inchildren's learning. Language, literature and literacy play a crucial part in teaching to and at earlyage of children. The every day practical activities and communication encourages children todevelop learning, literacy and literature. Communication skills are linked with development ofwriting and reading and also children's ability for communicating is directly related with theirliteracy development. Present report is based on children's picture book as the focus of text. Thepresent report aims at demonstrating knowledge of Australian Curriculum and the principlesassociated with the effective teaching for the early years. Application and interpretation ofdifferent theories of development of children's learning and literacy is done in the report.Appropriate assessment items, content, resources and teaching strategies are used in the reportfurther and in relation to Australian Curriculum documents.
