Advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing:
Cloud computing is an advanced computing technology that is revolutionizing the way
organization leverages computing resources. cloud computing is the process of storing, managing
and processing of data with a network of remote servers that are hosted on the internet rather than
considering local server or personal computer which is often the case in the traditional computing
process.

improve business performance. Journal of International Technology and Information
Management, 26(1), 112-137. Retrieved from

Cloud computing has several benefits to the business or any individual that has access to this
technology. However, it is important to note that, it has several drawbacks too.
According to Attaran (2017), “Cloud computing is an easy to adopt technology with simple
and the latest architecture. Cloud computing dramatically lowers the capital investment in hardware
and software infrastructure for smaller and medium size companies.”
The authors have described in details that cloud computing provides some significant
benefits which includes:
Access to powerful computing resources without investing huge in infrastructure
Easier resource management
Improves collaboration
Enhanced business continuity planning through cloud storage while providing security to
system and data, especially data that are critical to the business.

Providing context to the business that helps in minimizing downtime and reducing loss of
productivity for the business.
However, the authors also mention that advance features of cloud computing might create
security gap as well as human errors. Due to this it provides certain drawbacks to the business as
well which include platform inconsistency, network vulnerability, data unreliability, and business
discontinuity which requires to manage these drawbacks properly so that it is possible for the
business to maximize the benefits of the cloud computing.

_Solutions
Cloud computing is being extended for advanced mobile computing and one of the areas
where mobile computing with cloud integration is providing significant benefits is research for
telemedicine. According to Gheorghe (2014), “Integrating cloud computing with mobile devices,
some of the most important constraints applied to mobile computing are being overcome and the
noticeable ones include battery life and hardware with less computational power. There are being
resolved by moving the most complex operations and computations in the cloud”. Some of the
benefits of the mobile cloud computing are:
Increasing lifetime for mobile battery which is a significant constraint in applying mobile
cloud computing
Increase data storage capacity
Increase data reliability and data efficiency
Multiple services from different providers are easily integrated
However it has some disadvantages too and these include:
