This presentation provides an African perspective of Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), a serious problem in Africa. It discusses the causes, symptoms, and prevalence of FASD, highlighting poor behavioural practices and alcohol consumption among mothers as the main causative factors. The presentation also explores the prevalence rates of FASD in Western Cape province and South Africa, and recommends awareness programs, enhancing educational levels, and government initiatives to address the problem.
