Introduction:
Aging is one of the undeniable aspects of life, and senescence is equivalent to human life.
However, aging is a very complicated process which has a tremendous impact on the physical,
mental, and psychosocial health of an individual (Trombetti et al. 2016). although it has to be
mentioned that living a healthy and meaningful life is one of the most fundamental rights for all
human beings regardless of their age. hence the concept of healthy aging used to address these
challenges that the normal biological process of ageing brings forth in the life of an individual
and design strategies that a personalized and specific to address the specific issues associated
with aging for the person so that they can lead a meaningful and healthy life. this is a will be an
attempt to explore person centred approaches in assessment of aging individuals of their
challenges strengths and weaknesses, review of literature on healthy aging and how to
incorporate the healthy aging procedure into care planning and assistance and a discussion on
best practice strategies to assist the older adults to best cope with the reading process and make
the most of their time.
Critical reflection of the discussion:
As per the principles of patient centred care, communicating with the patience is a very
important part of assessment, Care planning, and implementation (Osborn et al. 2014).
Considering the Australian Healthcare scenario the second standard of the health and safety
Framework also emphasizes on partnering with the consumers, which is fundamental associated
with effective and compassionate interpersonal communication with the patient. Hence, it is
very important to communicate with these aging people to understand their perspective of how
the process of aging affect the lifestyle and living conditions and weather there any restriction
that needs special attention. Hence, for the first part of the assignment, an interview was

conducted with an elderly person to understand their perspective on aging, its impact and how to
integrate the aspects of healthy aging into the lives of the individuals. Elaborating further as part
of my nursing degree in the University of Technology in Sydney I have to complete nursing care
of older person module focusing on learning how to assist older people to eat healthy and well
and have the best possible quality of life as well. She exhibited the loss of husband to have a
huge toll on her health and she feels very little need for self care and continue to live without
him. Moreover, the social exclusion and withdrawal is affecting her mental state which has the
probability of slipping into depression. Emphasizing on a physical health and the process of
aging that has impacted it it has been mentioned that she reveals herself to be a diabetic and
having to take regular medication to control high blood glucose levels. Although she has
mentioned that she had been diagnosed with this disease for at least five years ago and it has not
been extremely difficult to take full control of disease with regular checkups and strict
medication Regime however after the death of a husband she often finds herself not willing to
take the medication or continue her regular check up due to grief and hopelessness. along with
that Samantha also revealed that she had been suffering from excruciatingly paint since the last
couple of months and find it's very difficult to move around the house on her want you to the
excruciating pain. she also repeat that she had after waking up from deep slumber in the night
due to the pain that had been caused due to tossing and turning during the sleep and even though
she knew she might be getting some bone problem she could not find it within herself to access
healthcare for her issues and she also mentioned feeling the will to live any longer leaving her
gradually. From the entire experience it is clear that eating process had a significant role on the
physical and mental health of the individual interviewed and coupled with the grief of the loss of

a loved one which is also fundamental aspect of growing age, Samantha is in dire need of
assistance and medical attention.
Literature review:
The case study of Samantha represents the condition for the most of the elderly
population in our society. the older adults that I living alone and are going through bereavement
of the loss of a loved ones are mostly kneading assistant on both physical mental and
psychosocial aspects of living procedure is the reason of all these factors Into one care program
that can help the older adults attend the best possible quality of life. Discussed by Trombetti et
al. (2016), healthy aging is a process which encompasses modifications made on each and every
level of lifestyle that can help address the challenges of teaching and the associated processes so
that the optimal benefits can be incorporated into the living condition of the elderly. As
discussed by Menkin et al. (2018), the older adults are associated with different perceptions and
Expectations after process of ageing and These Expectation Varies significantly with respect to
racial and ethnic differences. in this case as well Samantha belong to in ethnically diverse
cultural background enhance our expectations of ageing and moving on after facing bereavement
of a close one was different which affected her mental state. She firmly believe that after the
death of a husband how life has no meaning and there was no. Going any further with her
existence which is fundamentally associated with her ethnic and traditional principal regarding
life and death. on the other hand authors like Northe and Fiske (2015), healthy eating procedure
is eating an attitude towards the older adults in the aging world. this cross-sectional meta-
analysis suggests that the Eastern cultural the older adults in higher testing than the Western
culturals to due to the collectivist traditions of the cultural backgrounds however in the modern
societies the dramatic rise in the aging population threatens these cultural Expectations and more
