Executive Summary
From current study it has been summarized that British airline has taken effective
and essential initiatives in regard to IT crisis, in form of developing key strategies. Its
management has implemented each tactic in appropriate manner that has contributed to
provide desire outcomes. Furthermore, it has been determined that by following strategic
recommendations, airline has overcome the adverse impact of crisis.

INTRODUCTION
Crisis management is defined as strategic procedure that help companies to deal
with unpredictable crisis or challenges, while running ventures into specific industry or
sector (Wut, Xu and Wong, 2021). In the recent time, this process is quite essential, because
of strengthening organizations for purpose of dealing with major or another other form of
issues. The current assignment will be based on British Airways, which falls under the
category of leading airlines in the UK. The aim of this report is to explain the risk or threat
faced by chosen airline and critically examine the effectiveness of resulting crisis
management tactics. Furthermore, the objective of this report is to define the actual impact
of this IT crisis on airline locally or in the wider industry. Lastly, the study will clarify how
crisis was deal with and did airline use crisis model and how it deals with supporting
passengers or families included.

Risk faced by British airline.
There are different types of crisis and threats arise in the aviation industry. Each
crisis or threat put direct impact on organizations growth and success, that are performing
under this sector. British airline is the best example of those companies that operated in
aviation sector and running its venture successfully with number of operations that it
conduct appropriately. While running venture and managing practices related to that,
organization may face a specific issue such as IT crisis, that affect negatively upon its growth

reason behind IT crisis happen in the British Airways is lack of system update and technical
flaws. Another cause behind the same issue is uncontrolled return of power, due to which
each and every passenger at the airport has been survived. It may lead to a disaster within
airline sector, where organization has established its image and great reputation, for
purpose of achieving target aims and objectives. Therefore, the worst impact of this crisis
outcomes in form of long waiting list as people wait with their luggage at the airport check
in destination in the London, UK. Catastrophic failure of effective communication system is
also included in list of issue that affect British airways negatively. The very first IT failure
