Airline Management System 4
1.0 Introduction
An airline is a company that provides transportation of people and goods through the air using
airplanes. There are different paths in the air to be followed by airplanes but they can not share
one route at a time hence the need to strictly work on time. Bazargan. (2016). The airline
management system to be developed should be able to capture departure and arrival times. We
should be able to show booked and reserved tickets and the route followed by the airplane on
transit. This will help reduce accidents caused by air transport.
2.0 Justification
This system will be developed as expected in the background information about the need to
reduce accidents caused by air transport and better record keeping. The system will also focus on
real airline attendants who will help passengers get more information about the airline. There is a
need for a way to access airline services worldwide without having to visit the place or pay for
those services.
2.1 Advantages
The airline management system will be more advantageous to society. Passengers will be able to
book tickets at their comfort. Barry. (2017). Example an organization wants to take 50 of its
members for a tour on air, the system will just allow them to book the ticket and proceed with
their duties until the travel date. The advantages will include;
i. Reduced running costs. This is because the system will help reduce the number of
employees since everything will be done online.
ii. The airline will serve more users since all the activities are done by the system and the
system will be able to serve many users at once.
iii. Better record keeping. The system will have a database that will help the safekeeping of
the information and access to the information by the authority.
iv. Reduced accidents since ever trip will be timed.

3.0 Project scope
The scope of this project is an online airline management system. It is majorly developed to ease
of the users by making airline services available all the time. Rial & Serrano. (2018). The
system will keep well the records for future use. The system supports one user interacting at a
given time in a specific device. The users will use it with a lot of ease since it will have a good
user interface.
4.0 Cost and schedule analysis
Cost of materials
Technical services 100 $
Material cost 100 $
Total 200 $
Plane use schedule
Services Books
Circulation 1000
References 2000
In-house use 500
Total 3500
Plane use schedule is used to give a rough idea about how the plane will be used. In this case, we
used the time that it will be in use.
5.0 UML diagrams
These are diagrams used to show how the system will work by showing the components of the
system.
5.1 Use case diagram
Use case diagrams are used to show relationships between different airline system users.
Laplante. (2017).

The actors of this system (System users) Administrator, Airline executive, and the customer. The
duties performed by each are inter-related. Without the Airline executive, the system will not
function the same to customers. Each actor has importance in the system.

5.2 Sequence diagram
Figure 2 Sequence diagram for issue logging in the airline management system.
This sequence diagram shows all the activities that take place in the airline system before you are
logged in. The first Activity is where the user request for the login until when the login process is
successful.
5.3 Data flow diagram
It is used to show the flow of information within the system.
