INTRODUCTIONThe airport and airline industry is considered as one of the largest industries that contributes as a great source of the economy to the country. Although there have been a number of trends that have impacted the operations of the airline and airport industry, some impacted positive while some impacted negative (Cho, Windle and Dresner, 2017). During the expansion of the airport in UK, various arguments took place excluding the fact that it can prove as a beneficial factor for the passengers as well as for the airport industry. The report is about analyzing these current trends that have affected the operations of the airline and airport industry along with the arguments that were posed during the time of expansion of the airport in UK.LITERATURE REVIEWTrends that have affected the operationsAlthough there are enormous number of trends that have affected the operations of the airline and airport industry, but some of them throw a positive impact where the other ones throws a negative one. A very common example of this can be considered that overcapacity can be considered as the reason for minimizing the yields for per passenger. There are higher load factors in the airport and airline industries, which further results in a decrement in the productivity. But it is very important to ensure that a proper action should be taken by the airline and airport industry so that they can become able enough to avoid the profit seepage because they have to serve the customers larger values at lower rate of the per passenger yield. Intra regional routes are considered as the largest traffic flow segments that are running in the world and are covering a wider part of it as well (Taneja, 2016). It covers a higher rate of yield. Also, the involvement of more smaller air craft’s can be considered as one of the beneficial features because it provides the opportunity to explore new and smaller routes and there is a less chance of risk as well. There are various factors that can be termed as the opportunities in the terms of low cost carrier model in which the air craft can be efficient enough for a capacity of 100 to 160 seats. The connectivity with accurate and efficient service from point to point still lacks somewhere, so proper measures and services should be added to them in order to make them the fastest and the growing one in the market place. Also, it has been analyzed that the involvement and implementation of the smaller air craft’s can also prove helpful enough in minimizing the level os issues and complexity in terms of infrastructure (Burghouwt, 2016). By this way, they can also be able to find the routes that are not known and are abandoned. Also, it has been observed that the government has decided to replace all the aging fleets with advanced, modernized air craft’s. It has been initiated because the fuel, operations and servicing of the air craft’s are enough costly, specially the ageing ones because they not enough capacity to deal with so. Therefore, more time and services have to be consumed on those fleets, which is
