Location
Glasgow Airport is an international Airport of Scotland and is located in Paisley,
Renfrewshire which is geographically 8.6 nautical miles west of the city center of
Glasgow (glasgowairport.com 2019).
Catchment Area
The Glasgow Airport is one of Europe’s fastest growing airports and has a
catchment area of 2.3 million people annually with more than 8.7 million passengers
(glasgowairport.com 2019). There has been an increase of around 13% annual
growth which proves the importance of the airport in Europe.

The management of the Glasgow Airport delivers the best infrastructure and services to the
passengers of the airport according to the policies and the guidelines as set out by the
government of United Kingdom(Margaryan Littlejohn and Stanton 2017)

people from other parts of Britain in case of different problems in other major Airports of
United Kingdom.

FUTURE OF THE AIRPORT
Air Traffic of the Airport for the next 15-30 years
The Air traffic Growth in the near future and especially after 15 to 20 years will
force the management of the Airport to develop the infrastructure of the airport in a
proper and effective process (Budd and Ison 2018). It’s is expected that the number
of air passengers will grow to a whooping amount of 15 million annually.
Future Passengers and Aircrafts
Apart from the passengers of Glasgow a considerable amount of people will take the
service from the cities of Britain and Scotland (glasgowairport.com 2019).
Movements
There will be a growth in the movement of the customer traffic as well as the cargo
movements.

Runway
Rapid access and exit taxiways may have to be constructed towards the end of the period in
2020 in order to meet the forecasted peak movements of runways (Budd and Ison 2018).
Taxiway
The construction of runways will require the construction of new taxiways in order to enhance
the smooth operation of the aircrafts (glasgowairport.com 2019).
Apron
There will be a number of different kinds of low cost carriers as well as normal carriers that
will be operating from the airport in the near future (Budd and Ison 2018). Therefore the airport
authorities have to construct new Aprons especially for jumbo jets.

IMPACT ON STAKEHOLDERS
The new Airport plan will lead to different impacts on the stakeholders. The
new terminal will be coming near to a reserve which can lead to
environmental damage.
According to, Graham (2016) the New Terminal must also clear all the
legal and economical hurdles to ensure smooth operations for the future.
The improvement of the drainage system and the reduction in air pollution
can help the improvement of the airport
