Introduction
The following project will deal with the construction of a world class Airport terminal in
Seattle, more specifically the Paine field, which has been home to the Boeing Company for
years. The decision to award the contract of a new airport terminal in the Paine fields comes
amid growing concerns of increasing traffic in Sea Tac International (usatoday.com, 2018). The
following assignment will provide a detailed and compact discussion on the management of the
total project.
Activities, Supplies and Services that must be contracted out
The construction of the terminal building and the other required items will need a lot of
different things. This includes the likes of the different activities that need to be performed by the
construction agency, the suppliers that need to be contacted for supplying the necessary materials
for the ongoing project and most importantly the services that needs to be arranged accordingly.
Some of the main activities include fixing the budget of the project, identification of the
shareholders and fixing meetings with them accordingly, updating each and every of the different
types of project details timely to the shareholders and the others attached to the project. The
supplies will include the supplies of the construction materials, the different equipments, the
supply of labors, the supply of technical equipments and other necessary items (Harrison &
Lock, 2017). The terminal will be prepared according based on the integrated systems required to
operate a terminal. The construction company aims to take help from the construction
organizations of large Airports like Abu Dhabi international and Dubai International for
necessary consultation. Apart from this the Airport will also integrate the airport runway
management system, Air Traffic control systems and many more similar systems as such.

Creation of a Request for Information for one portion of the Project Work
The request for Information will consist of the construction documents, the drawings, the
specifications of the new terminal buildings and most importantly the conditions that are
generally agreed upon the owner of the airport and the contractor. In this particular case the
management of Boeing has selected Brett Smith’s request for information seemed to be the best
as it contained all the necessary details including the ways and processes by which the
organization aims to make the following airport one of the busiest regional hubs of the country.
The request for Information will be submitted by Brett Smith and the Project engineer in charge
will respond to the RFI’s. The most important element to construct a request for information lies
in the identification of the industry perspective and the feedback on the different questions
presented by the authority to the organizations (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). The feedback is
necessary to get a clear idea of the different types of the procurement process that is necessary to
initiate and complete the construction process of the Terminal Building. However the RFI is an
enquire process only from a number of different companies. The RFI is constructed by following
some basic steps which includes the inclusion of the different necessary details required to
complete the RFI. They are as follows;
Bidding Phase:
a. Reference to different specifications and drawing numbers
b. Identification of the different clarification
c. The impact that the clarification will have on the schedule
Construction Phase
a. Identification of the construction deficiency

Criterion used to select sellers for the portion under consideration
According to, Kerzner & Kerzner (2017) the vendor selection process is one of the most
complicated and emotional undertaking. There are five simple yet complicated steps to select the
perfect vendor. The authority of the following project has selected Brett Smith by means of these
steps. This is includes the likes of;
1. Analyzer the Business Requirements- The business requirements of the organization
must be clearly identified. The Airport authority must be clear on their requirements on
the new terminal building. The Authority in this particular case can assemble an
evaluation team to sort out the different requirements needed in the construction of the
airport terminal.
2. Vendor Search- The search for the vendor can be solved once the RFI’s are delivered by
the interested companies to the Paine field Airport authority. The RFI selection will be
done on the basis of a thorough scrutiny and a final short list of vendors will be
completed by the management.
3. Proposal evaluation and Vendor Selection- The Proposal will be evaluated by means of
the presentation forma of the organizations, business overview and background, the
expertise of working in such projects earlier and most importantly the financial prowess
to carry on the operations of such a huge project.
4. Contract Negotiation Strategies- This involves the ranking of the different priorities
along with all the alternatives. The Br4ett Smith management which will be involved in

the project will have to be informed about the risks and problems and have to mitigate
them by their own means.
5. Avoid making contract negotiation mistakes- The mistakes or any form of discrepancy
while signing on negotiation papers with Britt Smith must be avoided by the management
of the Airport.
6. Reduced Time and Effective Cost- Britt Smith has been selected by the management
because of its promise to deliver results within the shortest time and in a much cost
effective process. This is a major boost for the upcoming project.
Apart from this a lot of other factors must be considered by Brett Smith to ensure the success
of the following project. The figure below shows the factors that need to be considered by the
management of the construction company.

Contract to be used for this work and explanation
Both the parties have signed the legal and work related contracts based upon the
Paperwork reduction Act of USA. The different types of information regarding the project have
been assembled under an OMB control Number which is 2226-5667 for the project. Public
reporting for this particular project is estimated at around 9 hours per response. All the responses
under this particular project are listed under 49 U.S.C Section 47105 of US Federal Law. The
following laws bind both the parties under a common bond under which they will be forced to
follow all the different rules and regulations and avoidance of which can cause serious legal
issues.
Partnering needed or not and if yes why needed
Britt Smith can take the help of public or private limited companies to complete the
following project. The partnership will be required to ensure the project meets the deadlines and
be flawless.
Conclusion
The following project is one of the most ambitious projects of the mentioned company
and will involve intense expertise to complete. The time schedule along with the steps taken to
complete the project will be a necessary and important piece of information for the future
construction projects of such large scale.
