PROBLEM TO THE COMMUNITY.
Background
Deans is small community which is situated into town of Livingston in
West Lothian. Population of this area is around 3641.
Unemployment and poverty is major challenging aspects within rural
area so Deans community mainly faces this issues and from this reason it
impacts on health sustainblity of people as well.
From the evaluation of health survey of Deans community in West
Lothian and Scotland it’s been clearly identified that harmful drink
badly impacts and affects on people mental and physical health disability
and it impacts on society activities like violence, crime and many more .
In comparison with most other areas of West Lothian, Deans has the
3rd highest number of deprivation in West Lothian and
the 11% most deprived areas in Scotland.
Alcohol is frequently found to be a factor in poverty and deprivation.
