Annotation: The book on Conflicts, Dominance and Violence contains the history of various
social movements which are scattered in the history and geography of Mexico’s. The main
subject that the book includes is the labour movement, the attacks on various shops in the
Mexico City along with the cycle of social violence in the southern part of the country. The book
is not only the heuristic guide for the chapters that are included in the book but also reflects upon
diverse, unequal, unfair and social conscious society. Later in the book various conditions during
the Mexican Revolution are discussed such as trade unionism, need and collective bargaining
powers of the employees regarding the working conditions that were provided to them and many
more. According to this book it is identified that the conflicts raised within the society which
were related to land disputes, problems of old resentments, demographic expectations. One of
them included the confrontation among the popular armies and the foreign minorities section.
Apart from this it supports to understand the violence against some of the Spanish residents as
they were the immigrants who worked in the economic niches where they engaged in conflicts
with different people belonging to Porfirio Diaz regime. With such conflicts the leads to the
national identity with was in opposition to the Mexican identity, Spanish colony along with the
Unites States.

changes that took place in the Mexican culture post revolution which includes new and internal
migrations, popular biographical narratives, collective imagination of the future in context of the
power and culture that will exist within the territory. The book Culture and Revolution also talk
about the stories from the past where some are good ones. The characters act in the classic period
which is the revolution time that developed, built and transformed the culture.
