AbstractLeadership is highly crucial in the healthcare sector as it influences the manneron which healthcare is delivered. While this is the case, a number of hurdles arealways faced, which prevent the numerous benefits, which are associated with highlyeffective leadership from being attained. In the healthcare sector, leadership has notbeen granted the attention that it deserves. This study therefore explores some of themain qualities of highly effective leadership in the healthcare sector, explores some ofthe main hindrances to highly effective leadership in the healthcare settings andrecommend measures, which can be embraced in order to ensure improvement in thehealthcare leadership settings. Data will be collected using questionnaires, and the data will be analysedusing SPSS software. The sample size will be 100 respondents, who will beemployees at Colțea Hospital. They will be issued with questionnaires, which theywill be expected to fill.

CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION1.1.Background informationA number of previous studies have demonstrated that leadership is crucial forthe overall success of businesses. This is the same for the healthcare organizations.Leadership refers to the capacity of a person to guide or to influence their followers orother organizational members. It is the act of giving directions or leading other peoplewithin the organizations to realize organizational goal (Wuestman & Casey, 2015).Organizations need robust leadership to improve their performance. Organizationalleadership entails the development of leadership skills and abilities, which arerelevant within the organizations. Leaders should be able to control a group of peopleeffectively (Wasim and Imran, 2010). A highly effective leader ought to leadthemselves. When this is done, they will be in a position to lead other individuals.They have to be highly committed on professional and personal front, and at the sametime, they have to be highly responsible (Voegtlin, Boehm & Bruch, 2015). Leadershave to boost the morale of their employees. They should always strive to ensure thatthe employees are highly motivated. This will improve employee performance, thuscontributing to improved organizational performance. Leaders should know theirfollowers and at the same time, they should always be concerned about them. Theleaders ought to encourage them to engage in various kinds of initiatives and activitieswithin their organizations (Thomas & Christopher, 2014). This will improve the levelof effectiveness and efficiency of the followers, which will ultimately result in animprovement in the level of performance of the followers.
