Introduction

• Understanding the heritage sites are
very important in the conservation of
the national sites
• Sutainability refers to the
developments that are intended to
meet the needs of the current
generation without compromising the
ability of the future generation to meet
their own needs.
• The preservation of the heritage leads
to the ecological, social and the
economical development which leads
to the promotion of the sustainable
development.
• Farasan island is one of the island that
is being researched here. The island
consist of 84 atolls from an archipelago
in a part of the Red Sea.

Background of the study
• The Farasan island which is a part of the Saudi
Arabia tends to have many archaeological sites
like the military houses that are from the time of
the Ottoman rule in 1901, The german houses, Al
Rifai house and the mosque of the Najdi.
• Actions taken by the government to conserve the
heritages will help in attracting tourist. It will also
enhance the economical development of the
people residing in the area.
• The heritages have been hampered because of
the bad weather conditions.
• It is very important for the Saudi Commission for
Tourism and National Heritage to conserve the
ehriatges as it is a source of attraction to both
the national as well as the international levels.

Objectives of the Research
• The implement the measures and the principles
of the World Heritage convention and also the
preservation and conservation of the cultural
houses.
• To protect the archeological sources from the
graffiti and also enhance the standard of
security
• To establish the educational programs for the
preservation of the heritage management for
the local people who live at or near the
mentioned island.
• To shed light in the Saudi Commission for
tourism and National Heritage of these houses
for the purpose of restoration and preservation
• To show the relationship[ between the historical
heritage sites and the future generation.
