This essay is all about the behavioural problems created by violent games. In this
research, the problem that the particular research intends to explore and analyze is that the
video games tend to grow virtually in nature. The participation of teens in such entertainment
is also becoming higher day by day. Since most of the video games are violent in nature, and
owing to the advancement of technology, every child has access to the same on tabs and
laptops, these violent video games are leading to aggressive behaviour in children (Hasan,
2013).
Violent games are causing behavioural problems nowadays. This is an interesting
question to discuss since it deals mostly with the problems generally faced by the present
generation and rectifying it before time will help the future generation. It is becoming
problematic because video games are becoming an addiction to children if they are playing it
in an uncontrolled manner (Brunborg, Mentzoni & Frøyland, 2014). Teens are spending more
times on playing these violent games, and as a result, it is becoming the cause for the
behavioural problems of the children. They are carrying forward the aggression from the
virtual world to a real world (Lam, Cheng & Liu, 2013). This can be a significant problem
among the children because it hampering their daily life activities when he/she is at home or
outside the home, and they are becoming lazier day by day. Playing violent games is
becoming the priority over studies. Therefore, it is evident that their results in school are
deteriorating day by day (Ferguson, 2015). However, the children are sacrificing their social
activities or the development of any extra curriculum activities in which their interest level is
high just for the tenacity of playing the video games of the violent genre. It is significant
because of the popularity of violent games in today’s world. Even though many of the
peoples play violent games, who are literally older than the suggested age limits for that
particular game. All know that there are some kids who are also playing the games containing
the data which is not for children. This can be referred to as a new phenomenon so it is

significant in what kind of valuable effects these games would pose on the youth which is
involved in playing as they get aged (DeLisi, 2013).
Yes, I am ready to frame a thesis statement about the related research. Violent games
are posing a negative impact on kids. It is affecting children’s behaviour, mental health and
so on.
As from the research, this essay came to the conclusion that violent games have a very
bad influence on the behaviour of the children. I have already started reviewing a few articles
on this topic, and gathering relevant data regarding the harmful impact of violent games on
children, to substantiate the above mentioned topic. Meanwhile, I am also identifying the
gaps to find out what has yet not been researched. At the end of the research, I intend to
examine the negative impact of violent games on children’s overall emotional and social
development.
