INTRODUCTION
Leadership is a process of guiding and influencing the behaviour of other in within the
organisation with the main motive to achieve the objectives of the organisation and provide a
direction for achievement of these objectives and goals in a specified time limit.In this report
there will be identification of different leadership opportunities and styles which are adopted
by responsible nurses within the hospitality industry (Bolman and Deal, 2017). There will be
identification of leadership styles and the purpose for choosing this leadership style.in the
middle of the report there will be outline of registered nurse responsibilities and method
which will lead in team management and provide high quality care.it will also any five that
what are the rules model on teaching should the team leader provide during the day shift to
other employees. In the middle of the report, there will be discussion on registered nurse
standards of practice for ensuring the quality care with in hospital. The main focus will be
paid on different NSQHS standard
MAIN BODY
Identification of at least 2 leadership styles, and your rationale for choosing this leadership
style
Demographic leadership style: This is that type of leadership style where leaders lead the
employees by taking suggestions from them. It is effective style of leadership as it involves
all employees of team in the process of decision making. this leadership style can be adopted
by the registered nurses as it will helpful in involving employees in work within hotel
hospital industry with increase motivation in employees . This type of leadership provide
small amount of authority to every employee and provides different level of opportunity
(Yahaya and Ebrahim, 2016).
Laissez-faire leadership: it is that type of leadership which is also known as delegate
leadership, under this leadership style, leader free our hands of and allowed the group
member to make their decisions according to the situation. This type of leadership effective
as it provide very little riding from the leader complete freed freedom follower to make
decision and leader provide tools and resources which are needed for taking decisions by
group members (Anderson and Sun, 2017).
Rationale for choosing these leadership styles

There are number of reasons which state that these leadership styles are most suitable for
organisations which are dealing in healthcare industry. Registered nurses d style for effective
team management and increasing the quality of healthcare.
Laissez-faire leadership style allowed the team members within the care industry to maximize
their own leadership skills this allowed them to use some extent of maturity for performing
different tasks. This directly related to increase the skills and ability for performing some
work within the organisation. Support in creating the environment of independence within the
firm which will increase the team member to explore new ideas as well as increase the
efficiency of working. Allow the individuals of the team to create their own environment
which will directly impact on the health of persons as in case of emergency they can use their
experience for tackling the situation until the registered nurse came to handle the situation.
Increase the confidence and individual satisfaction in team which lead to be work done in a
proper manner (Asamani, 2016).
Reason behind choosing the democratic leadership style is that, it will connect the peoples
within the team to their work as they can make suggestions to team leader which will helpful
in promoting their idea as well as increase the efficiency of team working within the industry.
The demographic structure of leadership will increase the trust and respect throughout the
team which will also helpful in effective communication about the information regarding
various patients and there is no chance of delay for miss communication between the
information supplied by different team member’s team leader. Also assist registered nurses to
please more of an emphasis on values and morality which is the core function of any
healthcare institute (Cope and Murray, 2017).

RN’s responsibilities
There are various responsibilities which a registered nurse have to perform within the
organisation for increasing the healthcare quality some of the responsibilities are maintaining
accurate and complete healthcare record and reports of patients who are getting the treatment
in healthcare institute, administrating medications to patient and monitoring them for side
effect and reactions which are arise due to treatment of some specific disease with respected
drugs, prescribing assistive medical device and related treatments to the patients according to
their complexity and requirement, recording patient vital signs and medical information,
ordering medical diagnosis and clinical test, monitoring reporting and recording the

symptoms of the changes in the patient condition while the treatment going in the institute,
administrating non intravenous medicated, addressing, implementing and planning for
evaluating the patient nursing care plans by working with health care team members in order
to get patient fit (Begum and Riordan, 2016).
Methods
Registered nurses can improve leadership skills by adopting some methods which are
effective in increasing the efficiency of healthcare with working in a team. They can adopt
lifelong learning, for this we can take leadership classes and personal development classes
which are the great improve the nursing leadership skill. Pursuing additional education and
training is a common suggestion for nurses to trying to improve the leadership skills and can
be accomplished in several ways. Also use mentoring which will go in both the ways, as
mentoring is beneficial in developing leadership skills for nurses and workers both ways by
finding a mentor and being a mentor. We can also develop the leadership skills by developing
the awareness and building the trust with some confidence between the team member this
will examine everyone strength and weakness with their own and seek to learning
opportunities for improving both the team members and itself.
What role modelling or teaching should the team leader provide during the shift
Team leader play an important role in guiding or teaching medical students, team leader has
skills which motivates or encourages subordinates. There are some steps which show that
what kind of role modelling team leader provide to their subordinates –
Attending positive attitude – Team leader always present positive attitude during every shift
time. Their positive attitude towards their work and subordinates inspire their co-workers and
a positive team always able to manage their risks or problems in effective manner. If team
leader work with positive and good attitude then they can instil the same attitude in their
subordinates. During every shift of nursing care team leader bring and maintain positive
attitude and motivate their subordinates to work hard in proper manner.
Build Trust – A team leader must be trustworthy. With trust team and subordinates feel safe
and show respect to team leader if they are honest and true with their words. Team leader
always build trust in sequence to earn respect of team members and subordinates. While
teaching during shift team leader have to build trust to become role model.

Exhibit Integrity – A good team leader should make decisions which is better for both
organization as well as for subordinates. Subordinates or team members respect a leader that
really cares about business and those who work with in the business entity. Team leader also
have to give credit of work to their subordinates and take responsibility of their action.
Provide proper direction – A inspiring team leader always guide or direct their team leader
or subordinates towards right direction. A good team leader encourages their subordinates
rather than criticize them and inspire them to work hard. For this team leader have to
maintain or focus on their skills and knowledge.
Make time for subordinates – Team leader have to communicate with subordinates and
team members to encourage them and to solve the conflicts this bring smoothness in work or
performance of subordinates. Team leader make sure that they have enough time for
subordinates or team members to communicate with them and provide their advice to
motivate them.
Provide support and encouragement – A good team leader always support their team
members toward goal. Team leader can provide support and encouragement by providing
supportive and comfortable working environment and by taking time to understand issues
subordinates facing during shift. Team leader encourage or motivate their team members in
sequence to achieve goals and objectives.
Monitor Subordinates/Team members – Team leader observe or monitor their team
members during shift to make sure that the training which subordinates get they implement it
in proper manner or not. They also analyse the need of training while observing or
monitoring team members. While monitoring they also build good relationship with
subordinates or team members.

Registered Nursing Standard of Practice is the standard which came in force in 2016 this
provide direction or guidance to nurses in all centres. There are 7 standards in RN standards

of practice. These standards mark sure that supervisors teaching in proper manner to
subordinates and guiding to quality patient care. The seven standards for nurses include think
critically and analyses nursing practice this is the first standard which tell that professionals
or nurses have to think critically about their tasks and activities which they perform to take
care of patients and also analyse or examine various nursing practice in sequence to do work
in proper manner. Second standard is engaging in therapeutic and professional relationship,
while working in medical sector nurses or professionals have to maintain good or effective
relationship. They have engaged or maintain professional relationship because their
profession is depending on relationship with patients and professionals. Third standard is
maintaining capability and ability for practice, nurses and professional have to be strong in
their field of work or practice. They require to manage or maintain ability to do hard practice.
Fourth standard is comprehensively conducting assessment this standard provide insight into
patient’s physical status by observation of nurses. Fifth standard develop proper plan for
nursing practice this include proper plan and goal and the course which nurses want to like
practice. Sixth standard provide safe, suitable and responsive quality nursing practice, this
standard help professionals to provide safe and comfortable environment for nursing practice.
Seventh standard evaluate outcome to inform nursing practice professional can evaluate the
outcome by asking some clinical question to nurses. All the standards of Register Nursing
Standard Practice demonstrated the teaching to make sure or provide quality patient care.
A focus on NSQHS standards 1, 2 and 6
National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards were formed by Australian
Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care with cooperation of the Australian
Government. The main motive of NSQHS is to protect human and provide better health care
service to patients. NSQHS issue guarantee of quality mechanism which tests relevancy of
system and make sure that the system placed at right place in sequence to meet the expected
standards. There are mainly eight NSQHS standards name as Clinical Governance, Partnering
with Consumers, Preventing and controlling Healthcare Association Infection, Medication
Safety, Comprehensive Care, Communication for Safety, Blood Management, and
Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration.

Clinical Governance – The first standard of NSQHS is to provide governance, safety and
quality assurance and maintain reliability or improve healthcare services for patients.
Clinical governance provide proper safety to patients.
Partnering with Consumer – This is standard second of NSQHS this standard explains the
plan and strategies in sequence to develop a person-centred health or medical system by
involving patients in decision making to make sure that patients have proper knowledge of
the system or operation because patients are more concern about their health.
Communicating for Safety – Sixth standard of NSQHS this standard maintains some
strategies for effective communication between patients, professionals and patients’ families.
There is need of effective communication to avoid mishappening and for safety of the patient.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from above mentioned report, that leadership play important role
in development of nurses within the healthcare industry for improving the care quality. There
are number of roles and responsibility which are played by registered nurse where they also
improve their leadership abilities by adopting different methods. They also perform number
of roles which are related to increasing the quality care provided by the institute. Where are
some standards which are stated by NSQHS, which will guide register nurses about the
standard of practice and ensuring quality care of patient with in the industry?
