Analyse at least five (5) main tourist destinations
Paris, France: it is one of the most important and popular tourist destinations of the world. Situated
in France, it has placed itself to be the first preference of the tourists both of Europe as well as from
the other countries. This destination has been generating a large mount of revenue from tourism and
hospitality industry. The GDP of the destination is €681 billion and in 2018, Greater Paris exceeded
23 million hotel arrivals it is an increase of 11% on 2018 from 2017. The tourism industry exceeds
9.7% of GDP and the government of the country supports more than 2.9 million jobs as indirect
support to the tourism industry (Thelocal.fr 2019).
London, UK: the tourist spots of this country has been gaining a huge popularity due the its natural
and cultural emirates. It has a population of 8,787,892 and London produced about £408 billion or
$765 billion in 2016 which is over 22% of UK GDP. The tourism of this destination has afforded by
leisure tourism which considers both domestic as well as inbound tourism. Unlike the other
governments, the government of the UK has created 700,000 jobs for people including both direct
and indirect aid and invested £36 billion a year (London City Hall 2019).
Madrid, Spain: the Spain tourism has directly contributed more than 177.9 billion Euro in the GDP
of the country. In 2017 around 6.7 million international visitors arrived in the Community of Madrid,
tourism accounts for 16% of Spanish GDP. The government has created 870,000 jobs for the tourism
industry (Ft.com 2019).
Guangzhou, China: after a long time, China has been placed to be the growing estimation for
tourism. In last 2015, more than 133.80 million people have entered the tourist places of the country.
Guangzhou's GDP grew about 7 per cent to 2.15 trillion yuan in 2017, and its growth target this year
was about 7.5 per cent. In 2017, the first time the city recorded a GDP of over 2 trillion yuan. The

government is expecting a growth of 6.9% by 2025. In the Chinese tourism industry, 26,710,000 jobs
have been created (South China Morning Post 2019).
New York, USA: New York has placed itself to be one of the most preferred destination among the
international tourists. It is a business hub of the world and many international brands have their roots
in here. Most of the tourists here visit for both business as well as leisure tourism. In 2017, there
domestic. In 2017, this place had 61.8 million visitors, including day trippers, with 49.2 million
domestic tourists. Total economic impact of tourism of New York is $108.7 billion (New York State
Tourism Industry Association 2019). The government invests more or less US$ 150 billion in this
industry and created 938,800 jobs in last two years.

The trends and changes have become a driving forces within travel and tourism industry.
Therefore, demands of travel and tourism is rising sharply in the international context. The
analysis of trends and efficiencies of strategies are directly reflected in the amount of flow of
tourist in the region. Based on these analyses the government actually sets goal for future
investments. In case of London, as mentioned before, both the leisure as well as business tourism
has been effective. According to trends, most of the tourists visiting London mainly come from
the US, and other European countries. Both types of tourism contribute to the national GDP
highly. This trend of expenditure in the tourism industry has been growing for which the
country’s government has been investing for infrastructure, employment and in marketing of
these tourist places in all over the world. It has a population of 8,787,892 and earns the highest
amount of revenue than the other destinations of the world.

annual rate of 3.8% in 2025 with 630,000 million jobs in this particular industry. The visitor spent
in the tourism in the UK is more or less same which reflects that London is the most important
destination for the UK tourism. Apart from the European Nations, China is showing more growth
rate in the tourism industry with higher expenditure and government investment for infrastructure,
employee trainings, hospitality services and accommodation. This trend has been growing after
the Beijing Olympic and Asian Games organized by this country.
