INTRODUCTION
Role of leader and the function of the manager are the major aspect of all the
organisations. Leader influences the employees and build the strong relationship with them while
manager develop different strategies to gain the higher competitive advantage and build several
systems and processes (Jiang, 2018). This report includes the business case if General Electric
that is one of the most prominent organisations of USA and one of those companies who
registered themselves in public corporations. GE has gone through with the market structural and
competitive changes, throughout its 100 years of carrier. Henry Lawrence Culp Jr. is the CEO of
General Electric since 2018, and he is the first outsider who runs GE in the history. This report
includes the differentiation between the role of leader and the function of the manager and role of
leader in different management context.

Managerial skills and leadership qualities are the major importance of the General Electric that
helps them to achieve the continuous growth and development. Managerial skills help the
company to cope over from the different consequences that affects the performance of the
company (Graves, 2018). It supports the management procedure through which all the operation
will be conducted in an effective manner thus they get the long term success. On the other hand
leadership qualities are the different norms through which the performance of the employees will
get influenced and motivates that raises the overall working standard of the company. There are
different situations that were demonstrated by the top managers of the company that are as
defined below as:
New product launch: It is the situation in which the new product will be launched by the
General Electric. In this the product manager will performs different function in order to make or
develop the best and suitable product through which the revenue of the company will get
increases. The manager performs the complete analysis of the market and then operate the
optimise product that imparts more market value of the company. Manager will induce the
different and the unique shapes of the product and the exceptional features that attract the large
