Introduction
The concept of racism in Australia has a deep root in the distant past. The
contemporary condition of Australia is comprised of indigenous and native people of
Australia. Along with this, there are various waves of immigration that originally came from
the United Kingdom and Ireland. Hence, there are various policies of multiculturalism that
emerged during the period of post-war (Jonason, 2015). According to the legal status of
Australia, the indigenous people of the country belong to the recognition of British Common
law. During the year 2011, the Government of Australia made a commitment to developing
and implementing some strategies for antiracism. The strategies of antiracism include some
goals which are
Maximum number of Australians will be recognized the concept of racism as a
serious issue dwelling in the society (Nelson, 2014).
A maximum number of citizens will be involved with practical action to handle the
concept of racism.
The majority of the individuals will be resourceful to address the issues of racism and
implement required initiatives in the required areas.
Context
Australia is a country that possesses a strict attitude against the unlawful distinguish
among the people irrespective of age, gender, disability, the status of intersex, the identity of
gender, and sexual orientation within a certain field of life (Grigg & Manderson, 2015). The
federal law of Australia is associated with various aspects of legislation and acts, including
age discrimination, discrimination against discrimination, discrimination against racism, and
sexual discrimination. There are some general departments to assist the infrastructure

departments, regional department, and the department of the industry with proper innovation
of science and technologies.
The concept of racism began the journey from the beginning of European settlement
within Australia. The aboriginal people of the country were forced to enter into the
surrounding territories and divided into some new political entities comprising as the
Australian colonies. From these settlements, internal violence or conflict occurred among the
aboriginal people and the European population of the country (Lentin, 2016). During the late
19th century, the aboriginal people forcefully tried to relocate themselves within Australia.
From this period, the colonial government started to establish various laws and policies to
protect the aboriginal people of the country.
In the recent era, the policy by White Australia was dismantled within the decades
with proper following the unformed trends of the Second World War (Forrest & Dunn, 2013).
Antiracism in Australia can be analyzed from different perspectives. It includes
It contains the principles and practices caused and signified with the insufficient
distribution of rights, experiences, opportunities, and the other cultural and racial
groups.
The concept of structural racism refers to the macro social system of the policies and
practices performing in various and reinforcing racial groups (Collins, 2013).
Systematic racism refers to an interpretation with structural perception to operate the
concept of racism, combining the separate and entire approach.
There is significant differentiation between the minor and non-minor groups. The
difference lies in the accessibility of appropriate housing, quality of the education, and
the concept of employment (Came & Griffith, 2018).
