INTRODUCTION
Da Vinci surgery is minimal invasive medical science where few surgeons use this in
order to treat Urology room. Open surgery is a traditional method in which instrument re insert
into a body to treat the disease while Laparoscopic operating theater is modern operating room
technique where operations are performed far from the location using small cut. Report is based
upon Da Vinci surgery which represents the latest in surgical and robotics technologies. It also
presents some risk analysis and benefit of this surgery with providing many recommendation
while treating the patients using Da Vinci medical science.
PROJECT PURPOSE
Project objectives and outcomes
The main purpose of this project is to aware people related to Da Vinci surgery and let
them understand about the usage as well as benefit if using this into working area. As many
people have issues related to urology surgery, that is why, Da Vinci surgery is considered as the
most effective method to treat the disease in a well manner (Abbou and et.al., 2017). Main aim
of this report is to let people know about new technologies that must be introduced which is far
safer then other traditional method. Using new technologies is far beneficial and can be afforded
by others. As per the view of patient, they states that this surgery is quite cost effective but in the
point of view of doctor they states that this help a person to recover as soon as possible because
its recivery time is shorter.
STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT
It is a
process and the result of linking structure as well as resources with a strategy and business
environment too. Strategic alignment helps for a higher performance by making contribution of
people, process as well as inputs in order to achieve the objectives and minimizing waste. In Da
Vinci surgery which is a minimal invasive surgical procedure, called as robotic prostatectomy,
doctor uses finely controlled robotic instrument to perform surgery safely in the hospitals. Under
this surger process, patient sit on Da Vinci surgery console, surgeon perform robotic
prostatectomy by controlling devices which consist high resolution cameras. In this technology,
patient’s hand movement are scaled and then they perform operations in order to meet out the

outcomes (Amore and et.al., 2018). the main goal of this surgery is to provide rest to the patients
in order to treat them without insertion of any device. Hence the goal can be achieved by using
technology into working area.
BENEFIT ANALYSIS
Benefits: It helps to increase range of motion, improved sleight, enhances visualization
and improves access. The procedure of a surgery is unique and different as well as less
time consuming as compared to traditional method (Benefits of surgery, 2018).
Opportunities: Using this surgery, there are various opportunities such as patient can
live easy life style and as it require little period of period to recover, a person can easily
get back to work in short time. The surgery help to maximize a profit opportunities as
well as income for hospitals.Patient’s benefits: Using this surgery, patient’s recovery
period will be short. This surgery reduces the chances of blood loss. Patients are able to
return to work or other activity in faster mode. Most of the cases, this surgery help to
provide better result as compared to other methods. Less pain is another benefit for
patient by using robotic surgery using Da Vinci Surgery (Chen, 2017). In addition to this,
in urology surgery if patient uses this surgery then there is less chances of infection and
as a result they can live happily. It improve the health system of an individual.
Time management: This surgery takes less time to operate as compared to other
traditional method, even it also needs short time period to recover their patients. As there
is no insertion of instruments in a body that is why it takes less time to treat the patients.
Profit to hospitals: this surgery takes less time to treat which is one of the biggest
advantage for the hospitals and as hospitals needs train surgeons to operate. Hence time
consuming and trained doctors is the biggest benefit for the hospitals.
Patient’s profit: Using this surgery, the patient can easily recover with short period of
time and they faces less complication as compared to other method. Small cut is another
profit for the patient (Melich and et.al., 2018).
RISK ANALYSIS
Risk Factor: Selecting the best doctors for the surgery is the biggest risk factor. This is
modern method which is used by the hospitals now. Surgeons are still not aware how to use this
advance technology and during the time of surgery the surgery takes longer time and anaesthesia

time which may cause internal injury to patients. Another problem is related to legal
requirements as it takes too long format and some legal document in order to complete the
operation (Pötscher, Bittermann and Längle, 2018). Using this surgery there are general
contradictions which are includes such as bleeding disorders, history of prior surgery, etc.
Future Impacts: By using this, there are some positive as well as negative aspect of the
surgery such that a patient can recover soon and there will be less chances of infection and as a
result, it will be beneficial for the patient. On the other side, it will also have some negative
aspect such that cost of using this surgery into the working will be high and as a result many of
them are not afford this surgery.
Management: Management is another risk factor which is faced by hospital while
implementing this surgery into the working area. The surgery require important and trained
surgeons and who have a good management skills which later on help to creates positive impact
upon the hospitals (Robison and et.al., 2018).
Technological Profit: Using this latest and advance technology into the working area
will help to creates awareness among people. As the surgery require less time and less blood loss
which further help for the healthy life for an individual (Sakat, Grove and Stevenson, 2016).
Using advance techniques into the work place will assist staff as well as customers to keep them
healthy.
Staff Training: It is performed only by those surgeons who have develop some adequate
robotic skills and who perform some specific training in the use of Da Vinci Surgical system. In
the case of providing training to their staff which may cause some high cost. But at the time of
training sessions, hospitals must be sure that they provide best trainer to their staff on order to
understand the surgery skills.
Cost of Consuming: The cost of Da Vinci Surgery is quite high as compared to normal
or traditional method. Therefore, many patient will not afford this surgery in order to operate.
ACHEIVABILITY
Funding
Medi bank policy is the private health insurance which further helps to provide funding
for the business in order to implement new techniques into working area. The funding aspect also
varies such that because of hiring of some special trainer who also needs some more funding.
3
Document Page
Staff training is another financial problem which must be met out by the hospitals in order to
implement new techniques (Schmid and Augustin, 2018). Hospital management also require
more funding facilities which should be manage easily by the company. As the cost increases
day by day then it will cause problem for the hospitals in order to implementation of new
techniques.
Staff resources
The implementation of this technique also depends upon the staff resources such as place
where the surgery can be done, special trainer who have specific skills regarding Da Vinci
Surgery. Some counselling session regarding those staff members who needs training in order to
perform the surgery, new and advance equipment which are needed during the surgery,
laboratory where the services are implement. These resources are helpful to meet out the basic
objectives and this will achieve the higher objectives in order to use those new and advance
techniques into the working area (Sergeeva, Huysman and Faraj, 2015). As this surgery also
needs some training in order to perform those into the working area therefore, research must be
focused on the best practice and some innovative approaches.
Governance and Accountability
The main principle of accountability is related to board's ability in order to make sure that
the hospitals conduct their activities in fair and balanced way in order to meet out their
achievements. Even the open society foundations also work with the government and business
for advance transparency, rule of law. Accountability means that the work should be done on fair
basis and the activities must imply with all legal requirements in order to meet out the objectives.
As the government also provide some funding up to the $ 50000 per project. This grants also
support the salaries of statisticians, lab technicians in order to do the work at proper time.
Complexity of problem or solutions
Da Vinci Surgery is one of the most advance techniques which should be used by the
surgeon in order to address the problem of urology (Taylor and et.al., 2016). Using this problem
will help to or improve the range of motion as compared to traditional approach and thus
allowing surgeons to perform more complex surgical movements. As the surgery is quite helpful
for those patients who can easily recover from their actual situation.

Competitors and Marketing
Competitors for Da Vinci surgery are the traditional method which are used by the
surgeons because of low and affordable prices. As the surgery is quite beneficial therefore, it is
quite necessary to let people know about this new technique which can be done through social
media and website or internet.
Constraints and Dependencies
As this surgery is rapidly developing but still have many limitation which should be
improved as per the time (Weiser, 2018). Cost effectiveness is the major issue therefore, many
conventional operations showed that the absolute cost for robotic operations is quite higher and
the major part of the increased cost is attributed to the initial cost of the purchasing of robots and
the maintenance cost is also quite high. Another limitation is that the surgery includes the
bulkiness of the robotic equipment currently use. Further, the lack of tactile and force of
feedback to the surgeons in another limitation which must be overcome as per the time passes.
Impacts
Using Da Vinci Surgery into hospitals will creates positive impact upon the hospitals
because it will help to reduce the blood loss and the patient who operate their disease using this
surgery then it also help to reduce the chances of infection and as a result it will helpful for an
individual to lead a healthy and successful life. By using Da Vinci Surgery into hospitals will
helpful for the patients as well as hospitals too.
RECOMMENDATIONS
It has been proved that Da Vinci Surgery is helpful and advance technique which is used
by the surgeons in order to utilize the time of patients during operations. The specialist
should provide some training sessions to their doctors in order to let them know about
new policies and advance technologies. (Yoshida and et.al., 2015).
Hospitals should also use all the latest and advanced technologies in their working area so
that it will help them to achieve more profit such as by using Da Vinci Surgery will
further help to patients especially reduces the pain, help in recovery of the patients
etc. This method is considered as one of the most effective and advanced techniques
among all modern performing because of less time consuming and less risk effective. It

has been analysed that this method is generally not preferred by the doctors due to high
cost as compared to others. It has been advised that using this techniques into working
area will helpful for the doctors or as well as hospitals so that it will help to maximizes
the sales and profit (Abbou and et.al., 2017).
Due to cost effective, generally hospitals do not uses this surgery into the hospitals.
Therefore, it has been recommended that the equipments which are used during da Vinci
Surgery should cost less and affordable and as a result the surgery cost automatically
decreases.
By using traditional method for urology surgery, it has been examined that people faces
infection problem but after using Da Vinci Surgery, patients faces less problem related to
their time of recovery, pain and blood loss condition etc.
APPROVAL AND ENDORSEMENT
Approval From the government should be needed and directors should also approved in
order to apply this surgery into the working place. By applying tool kit for improvements which
will further help to lead a business project into its success level. This includes:
Idea Generation: Taking ideas from the stakeholder and other members present in a
meeting will help to complete project on time.
Initiate: Applying those ideas in working area is the next step which helps to proceed
work at initial phase.
Plan: Project documents should be submitted and planning should be taken in order to
complete the task.
Deliver: After planning, the project must be delivered in order to complete it.
Close: Last step under which performance can be evaluated.
When the plan is approved then it should be implemented and supported by all
stakeholders so that new task can easily success. In order to endorse the project, there are many.
such that insurance endorsement, license endorsement which should also be comply with the
business in order to maximize the profit (Chen, 2017).
