Introduction:
A supply chain ensures the distributional options for both raw and finished materials
that can be transformed into complete goods and can be distributed using various distribution
systems. The e-procurement process is a system to make online purchasing easier. It helps to
provide a systematic way to make communication with the potential suppliers in order to
keep relevant information during a business process.
Discussion:
E-procurement is a complex process that can even open up the organization’s privacy
concerns that may result in errors. In this research analysis, the discussion will be centred
round, how e-procurement changes the role of purchasing and its relationships with suppliers.
Business professionals who are involved in the supply chain management mainly deals with
the designing, controlling and developing a company’s suppliers’ portfolios (Rogers and Fells
2017). The e-procurement process leads the process of linking and integrating between many
organizational business processes.
From the perspective of purchasing side, the e-procurement has many enablers and
barriers in the distribution process. The process, e-procurement reduces maverick buying that
can result in the process of negotiating cost reductions. It also administrates in respect of their
own products by reducing administrative work (Vaidya and Campbell 2016). The process
requires less manual activities as well as less time regarding the requirements. Therefore, it
results in following up the management processes to encounter reduced lead timing and use
the resources in a better way. According to the supplier relationship, the distribution process
makes clear instructions as well as automated checklists to prevent the errors in the tenders
and appeals. However, the e-procurement reduces the price, but it’s not always depending on
