The tournament heldin All England Club in Wimbledon, London, since 1877. It is the only grand slam tennistournament which is played on grass (Rakovská and Svoboda, 2017). It is a two weektournament that begins in late June and finished in early July. Since its inception, the WimbledonTennis tournament greatly impacts on the economic condition of London, United Kingdom.Large number of people visiting the area increases worries in the local residents of neighbouringtowns such as Wimbledon and small villages such as Southfield. Southfield tube station is thenearest station to championship and therefore, brings a large amount of tourism. With theincrease in tourists, local market and restaurants got benefited as their productivity andprofitability increases at that time. This helps in the growth and development of nationaleconomy of country. Albeit there were some negative aspects of the Wimbledon Tennistournament (Bizzozero, Flepp and Franck, 2016). The local residents and natives found troubleto walk on pavement due to increase in crowd. Further, traffic sometimes become uncontrollableand unbearable due to increased crowd and tourists. Thus, in this context, this dissertation willanalyse the impacts on Wimbledon Tournament on the economy of London. Economicconditions in London have been greatly influenced by organising Wimbledon Tennistournament. It is one of the four Grand Slams that played on the grass lawn and players fromdifferent countries arrived in Wimbledon, London in order to participate in the Grand Slam. Inthis context, the economic and social environment of the country have been impacted bothpositively and negatively. For attaining research objective, the current investigation will follow asystematic process. This process will comprise literature review, research methodology and dataanalysis chapters.
