Abstract
Innovation is an effective way to solve the healthcare related problems. This paper is explored of
innovative technology which is used into the healthcare sector. The healthcare innovation can
affect understanding of the development into the healthcare sector particularly in improving the
efficiency and healthcare data access. Electronic Health Record technology is used for managing
process innovation into the healthcare sector. It is the first step to transform the healthcare. The
benefits of this technology are improving the healthcare and patient care included safety, patient
satisfaction, interaction as well as efficiency. In this study, primary data collection method is
used where the healthcare professionals are involved to participate in the survey. The selected
sample size is 55. Quantitative data analysis is conducted where the raw data are analyzed by
statistical method in form of charts and graphs. The findings of this research study are to
improve the healthcare care, reduce human errors, reduce waiting time and improve over the
business efficiency.

Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Background
The paper is based on “Analysis on the healthcare sector used technology to manage
process innovations”. The healthcare sector is experiencing to manage process innovation aimed
to enhance life expectancy, quality of life as well as treatment options. Scuottoet al., (2017)
stated that using of healthcare technology can lead to business effective as well as cost
effectiveness into the healthcare system. Noeet al., (2017) argued that the information
technology is playing a key role into innovation of the healthcare systems. Despite rush into the
process innovation, theoretical research in the science of the healthcare innovation is limited.
This paper is based on the healthcare innovation and understanding of how the innovation
is occurred into the chosen sector. This study opens doors for the researchers to address
questions related to innovation into the healthcare sectors.In the healthcare sector, process
innovation can involve in changing how the product and services are produced and delivered.
Dodgson (2018) defined process innovation as new and improved production and delivery
method which makes significant changes into techniques, equipments as well as software.De
Vries, Bekkers and Tummers(2016) discussed that process innovation brings substantial changes
and benefits to the company by reduction and enhancement of the production system..

As mentioned in previous section, the healthcare sector technology helps to manage
process innovation so that it can meet with goals to enhance the healthcare services and gain

2.1 Introduction
Increasing in service costs as well as pressure to provide quality healthcare services to the
society irrespective of purchasing power are two challenges that the healthcare sector is facing
now-a-days. Biemans (2018) stated that information technology plays a key role into the
healthcare areas. Groves et al., (2016) argued that in order to provide quality services to patients
at reduced cost, maintenance of the patient history, digital imaging of paper forms as well as
generation of the electronic medical records are the healthcare technologies which help to
manage process innovation and increase productivity of the business organization. By means of
IT, the healthcare services are offering predictable and manageable services so that there is
steady transformation of their healthcare services. Zhang et al., (2017) discussed that the
healthcare sector is required to bring technological innovations to offer quality services at lower
cost and manage risks.

Introduction of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) into the healthcare sector would
replace paper records which is a huge change allied with the healthcare professionals.The
medical assistants, health information technicians and coding professionals are playing the
