Introduction
The use of tobacco is injurious to health as well as it is people the primary health concern for the
people. The step taken by North Sydney Council is to ban the cigarette smoking processes in the
business districts. The issue statement is reflecting that whether the ban on the smoking process
is gaining community support at large as the decision made by the North Sydney Council. On the
basis of this issue statement, the tactical analysis and the application of theory to practice are
carried out (Worts, 2018). The theoretical analysis of the issue statement is carried out by
choosing one of four historical models of Grunig and Hunt and by selecting organizational
reputation theory. These theories are providing support to the evaluation of the tactical responses
provided in this context.
Evaluation of tactical response
The tactical response as reflecting the process of teaching people to mitigate bad habits. The
tactical response in this context of cigarette smoking process for the people is that the North
Sydney Council is banning on this process. This context is analyzed as the ban on smoking in the
business districts will create a smoking-free zone. Due to this reason, the initiative is adhered by
the North Sydney Council for mitigating this kind of serious health hazard. The statement
provided by the mayor of the North Sydney Council is that if anyone is caught for smoking in the
public places then the case will be launched on them without launching fines for them. Due to
this reason, it is gaining the positive support from the public as per the case is concerned. The
provision of support is helping in mitigating this kind of serious health hazard (Roberts, 2018).
The tactical response was made for the public who are involved in the smoking process. It will
be helping them to find out the ways for prohibiting the smoking process. The awareness related
to the health hazards of smoking will be carried out by the North Sydney Council. It will also
help them to mitigate the smoking process. Apart from this, the response made to the public
should be carried out by the help of mass media campaigns. It will be reflecting the key strategy
for reducing smoking in the business districts (Racgp, 2015).
The response was made to the public as it will be helping them to create awareness among the
public. This response will be strengthening the community support for regulating the activities in
