Anecdotal Record 1 –
Indoor
Children involved: Fred and Cathy
Observer:
Christine
Date:
Observation:
I saw that Fred feeling upset and irritated by Tina sitying
next to him, claiming tha he is irritated by tina’s scratchy
clothes and is feeling overwhelmed. He thinks that it is
hurting him. It seems that Fred is having challenges in
the sensory processing.
Additionally, it also can be seen that most of the children
have enjoyed sand play in the outdoor areas. Fred sat in
the sand pit with Cathy making small sand castles and
small hills with the sand. They are digging plags on the
top of the sand castles and proclaiming themselves as
the emperor and the empress. Outdoor play at the time
of scorching heat can be harmful. Hence , an indoor sand
play area can be constructed. Such area can be
constructed in the middle of the room and the materials
that were non toxic, that will not pose any hazards were
used.

Anecdotal Record 2 –
Indoor
Children involved:Ronn and Johny
Observer:
Christine
Date:
Observation: Ronn and Johhny both were playing a sand
and water sensory bean. Both of them were superexcited
about the marine life. Ronn took some plastic marine
creatures from the plastic tor tubs. Johny asked-“ why
did you bring the turtle and the whale?” . “Oh! Johny,
where did you see an elephant walking down the sea”
cant you see we are making an ocean habitat. Can the
you bring me some sea shells from the tub and some
oysters as well. Ron gets up to get some more toys to
develop the marine life. Johhny gets himself busy to
accumulate the sand in one side of the tub making a
clear demarcation between the sand and the water.
It seems that both Ronn and Johny were keen about the
marine life and they also like to play with sand. Thus a
sand play area can be constructed inside the room.

Evaluation:
1. How flexible were you when responding to children’s
planned and unplanned interests, teaching and
learning?
2. How might you respond to the follow up of high-
interest experiences?
3. How did you acknowledge each child’s uniqueness in
positive ways?
