Annotated Bibliography on Human Resource Issues

This annotated bibliography includes three peer-reviewed journal articles on human resource issues. The articles cover topics such as regulating work in the gig economy, digital labour and development, and technological disruption and the future of employment relations. the gig economy: What are the options?. The
Economic and Labour Relations Review, 28(3), 420-437.
The level of ‘gig’ works in Australia is reviewed
and portrayed in this article. The ‘gig’ jobs are causing
remarkable uncertainty for the existing work
regulations (Stewart & Stanford, 2017). The article has
cited both the international legislation as well as case
law apart from the case of Australia. The author
suggests that it is the responsibility of the policymakers
and regulators to strengthen and enlarge the regulatory

This article throws light on four most important
concerns of the digital workers based on a study with
the workers of South-East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa
(Graham, Hjorth & Lehdonvirta, 2017). Those are:
economic inclusion, negotiating power, intermediated
value chains and upgrading. The article shows that a
range of costs and risks go side by side with the tangible
advantages for a group of workers (Graham, Hjorth &
Lehdonvirta, 2017). It leaves great effect on the
livelihood of the workers. The article henceforth,
highlights and concludes with four active strategies:
shaping digital workers, certification policies,

about more jobs, more economic strength to the

machine can perform super human works and with
excellent accuracy in the fields like medicine,
accounting and law. The machines betters human

authors on the other hand suggest that these machines
can do only some restricted tasks within limited
