The purpose and objective behind writing this article the author focused over to present
the evidence from several research and surveys conducted by many scholars in separate and
unique environment that distinctly demonstrate and identifies the negative impact of social media
in three specific and main categories. The first category shows that social media fosters a false
sense of online connection and superficial friendships that mislead people towards emotional and
psychological problems. II negative impact and category of social media on society is it harms
peoples and it can be easily become addictive reducing the family time and personal time as
well. Basically social media make people lethargic and addictive to it due to which they ignore
everything and spend their maximum time and efforts on different social media platforms which
keeps them away from themselves and their self-development along with their families too. The
third and the last harm that is caused by social media on the society is it is becoming a potential
tool for those who hold criminal thoughts and committing illegal acts on it. These are the three
most influential and negatively impacting factors of the use and extensive use of social media
also show the first and the third problem are showing link between the psychological problems
caused by social media and criminal activities committed by people mostly teenagers.
