Critical management practices influencing on-site waste minimization in construction
projects. Waste management, 59, pp.330-339.
In the construction industry, on-site areas are prone to waste. The authors in this article
identify a few factors and strategies to be useful in minimizing the waste from the site. The
authors say that the construction site managers by sticking strictly with the project drawings can
keep the waste under control level. There should not be any new design presented to project
drawings. Indeed, it should be left as it is. In addition to these precautions, a few points of
consideration can also be useful in the purpose. These factors are contractual provisions for
waste minimization, maximization of materials reuse, waste segregation and effective logistic
management.
Bryde, D., Broquetas, M. and Volm, J.M., 2013. The project benefits of building
information modelling (BIM). International journal of project management, 31(7), pp.971-
980.
The authors say that current inefficiencies from site projects can be eliminated by using
BIM. A building information model can capture as well as map the underground hidden
conditions including also the utilities. This means BIM adds more creativity to construction
projects. It enables building owners to pay less for the utilities. Besides, facility managers can
also easily identify the maintenance needs of the site. Hence, a potential threat of uncertain
accidents can thus be avoided and so, its associated cost. Nevertheless, BIM helps make the
building at a cheaper cost and faster rate while also not compromising the quality.

Communication in Residential Housing Projects. In ISARC. Proceedings of the
International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (Vol. 34). IAARC
Publications.
The authors here highlight the significance of effective communication in the effective
completion of the construction project. Although effective communication is necessary for
implementing anything related to on-site construction, it generally faces many barriers. The site
construction engineers are generally good in communication; however, they somehow find it
difficult to establish the same across the construction site. It can be because the construction site
has many people not good at communication. It can be due to many other barriers as well. The
list of barriers can be identified by encouraging the site construction engineers to share their
feedback on barriers faced by them in establishing effective communication processes on site.

management (VM) to improve the consideration of energy efficiency within pre-
construction. In AIP Conference Proceedings (Vol. 1761, No. 1, p. 020102). AIP Publishing
LLC.
Energy inefficiency has always been a common issue for construction projects. Even
today there are many construction projects in both developed and developing nations, which
follow the conventional method of the construction process. The conventional construction
